Parros grew the stache back for the negotiations. At least somebody is serious.

I can't mention from what team for obvious reasons , but I was talking to an NHL scout at a game I attended recently , he told me their is an 82 game schedule in place if a settlement is reached by the middle of October .
He said all they have to do is play more back to back games , if the players agree to that is another question , tired players get injured more frequently , I told him I just just can't see them (the Players) agreeing to that sort of thing when they are ready to play right now , they are willing to play , it's the owners that are locking the league down not the players ..

Westgarth and Parros his bodyguards or what..?

Nice that they've found a new line of work, both would've been mostly in the AHL or scratched anyway..Though I'd imagine mister Buttman would need 'em more than Fehr at this point, and every other point for that matter

I can't even believe that the NHL would even contemplate a lockout.

Bettman is such an idiot.

You know what though, the product on the ice just isn't all that great anymore and while I think it's completely retarded to have a lockout or even the threat of one, even if they do play, will it be worth watching?

I lose interest more and more each year that they have watered it down and tried to take the spirit out of the game, I just can't get that angry that they get locked out and can't get all excited if they aren't. My apathy grows.

Thanks Gary.

I have always loved hockey but to tell you the truth I wouldnt miss it much if they lose the whole year. With the NFL lasting till Feburary now and then MLB spring training starting up soon after I wont miss Hockey much. I stopped going to games years ago and dont buy any NHL gear or subscribe to center ice so they get very little money if any from me. I hope NBC drops them if they lose the year and NBC has to pay them for nothing.

After reading all the intelligent threads and watching some local news clips regarding the lockout, I truly am losing hope that there will be a season at all. If so....everyone looses, here.
USHL here I come. Ridiculous!!!!

Bettman interrupts every reporter asking a question. What a rude asshole. Let them finish and be professional you prick.

I wonder what happens to the people that bought season tickets in Winnipeg?
I'm pretty sure they had to buy a package deal for 5 years, so do they get their money back if there's a lockout? (or a percentage if the lockout doesn't last the full year)

There's good points made by both sides, and both sides are going to distort things in their favor, but Bettman's presentation and demeanor is just so off-putting, that it's hard to give the league a chance in this one. I tend to side with the players, but I can't believe it's gotten this far again. Embarrassing.

Season ticket holders won't have to pay a dime, and I highly doubt they had to pay for five years up front.

I don't recall if it was 5 years, but I do recall hearing that they had to buy season tickets for multiple years, because of how in demand they were.
