I think its wrong to lump 300 million, myself included, into some lame stereo type. Even worse to insult the country that supports a decent amount of Canada's economy with all the lumber and oil we buy.

Cant wait for Fehr to give Bettman and the owners a small dose of reality.

Your country has no choice but to buy oil from us. Besides China, who else uses as much oil as your country? Don't be so ridiculous.

As for the impending lockout (if they so choose), I am with the owners when it comes to money. How the players think they deserve anything more than 40% of the revenue goes beyond me (not only hockey, but any sport).

Just remember, as salaries have risen, so have the costs of attending a game. Players are well compensated for playing a GAME.

Plenty of Canadians don't give a **** either. The NHL has proven they don't give a **** about the fans by ruining the sport so why should fans blindly love the NHL?

At the end of the day if there is an NHL season in 2012 that is fine. If there isn't? I'm fine with that too. Hell a lockout might make the WHL season better. So in that sense I'd be all for it. If there isn't an NHL season it isn't like there is no hockey at all. There is plenty of hockey. Much more entertaining hockey at that.

This is why I won't get upset if there isn't an NHL season. It will only make a better product down the ranks.
The league needs to take two steps back and take a look at their whole agenda. They(league, players and owners) have all become about one thing....Money. There used to be a love for the game, now they will change the game to appease one single player(we all know who).
Lastly it shouldn't cost $100 to go to a game.

Westgarth and Parros should challenge Bettman and Daly during negotiations.

Well, this stinks. Pussified or not, I'm going to miss the NHL if it's another lockout.

Same with me.

Hockey is by far my favorite sport, and even with all the post lockout rules, I like it more than any other sport out there (or anything on TV for that matter).

A lockout is going to really suck for me. The off-season is long enough and boring already. It wouldn't be so bad if there was other hockey on TV I could watch, but there's not. I'm sure this wouldn't be so upsetting if AHL games were televised on cable.

I guess I'll be playing a lot of video games and be watching a lot more MMA during the lock-out. The NFL sure as hell isn't going to fill my hockey void.

Canada buys just as much from us as we do from them. America and Canada are probably the 2nd best trading partners next to China and America. Heck Canada is even under the protection of the bloated US military and that alone is worth Canada's GDP in terms of money. Canada does not contribute to that what so ever. Some Canadians like to rag on us, but they fail to realize the world views them as Americas smaller clone only known for 2 things, cold and hockey with a few eskimos thrown in. Canada is probably the most American country out there by a landslide. Canadians arent exactly in the best postion to talk down to us fatass Americans.

Thats my feeling too. The last lockout pissed me off, but at this point I'm not even that excited for the upcoming season (or lack thereof), so I don't think it would bother me much. I would rather check out some more minor league games

Think you nailed man, spot on! The fact is,Canada is bordered with the biggest consumer nation in the world,so they prosper from that. Even though Canada likes to act all independent to the "elephant" to the south, there is no escaping the importance of our trade terms,as the most easily crossible border between two countrys in the world. As far as our dependance on Canada's natural gas, pfft. Its all shale in Alberta, which the US oil companies are helping Canada extract. Raised gas prices in the US have more to do with speculation, than actual demand. Our demand has always been high.China and Indias usage increase also increases prices, obviously. So knock off the US bashing, thankyou.

I kind of am tbh. the owners are the ones putting in the capital and risking losing it all, the players just play and get paid a **** LOAD to do it. all the financial risk is with the owners, why shouldn't they get a return on that investment?

I don't know of many other industries where the employees take more of the profits than the owners/investors do.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for somebody earning 1mill+ wanting more money for none of the risk.
