I went to every game and the arena was filled. You may have seen the Club seat area which are the 3 center sections in the lower bowl on both sides of the ice. There are always seats open during the game because many of the people with those tickets stay in the clubs during the game and take advantage of the free food and drink that comes with the ticket.

It's hysterical how one article from the NY Post that tells us absolutely NOTHING new with no sources leads to people posting about moving the franchise to Quebec, folding the franchise, etc. Such drama queens.

Wait until there's actual news and then discuss it. Nothing has changed with the Devils financial situation.

Definitely right about that. I looked at tickets for the Finals and the cheapest I found were over $300 for seats up in the corner that normally cost $20 during the regular season. I expect there to be mark-up because it's the playoffs, but that's insane.

The sad thing is that Ticketmaster's prices weren't very good either. I was eligible for the pre-sale for Finals tickets because I bought tickets for a regular season game this year, and the prices were still outrageous. If I'm going to pay over $200 for a ticket, I want them to be really good seats, not ones up in the corner where I'll get vertigo.

That could have been it then, it was just surprising to see quite a few open seats during the playoffs. And I haven't said anything about them moving to Quebec or any other place for that matter. Now the Coyotes on the other hand......

This ownership issue is old news. They have until aug. 14th to get a new owner to buy that scumbag Ray Chambers share and then refinance, if they don't we'll see what happens. If the NHL won't move the Coyotes, they sure as fuk aren't going to move the Devils. So far, they've sold 1500 new season tickets and have a season ticket renewal rate of 95%.

Enough with all the rumors. The NY Post is about as reliable as the National Inquirer when it comes to the Devils. The NHL has already publicly denied the report by the Post and Bettman, who has been in constant contact with the Devils and the banks to which they owe money, says that everything seems to be according to schedule and will be resolved shortly.

Until anything actually happens, it's pointless to discuss. I understand the well documented and pathetic Devils haters drool at any opportunity to bash the Devils but there's nothing new here.

I've been to see zero games. However that statement means nothing, there is plenty of leafs fans out there who will never afford a ticket or Habs fans who sell out every game. I did however watch every Flyers game this year either live at midnight or the following day on game centre. If devils played every game at midnight I bet you wouldn't be watching them

It does mean something if you are running your mouth calling out other teams for not supporting their teams by going to games. I haven't seen you say anything about it so this doesn't apply to you.

My point was, many people who find every opportunity to bash the Devils fan base for not having a high attendance are the same people who don't support their own teams by attending games. People have their reasons (jobs, families, financial situations, etc.) which are all valid reasons why they can't attend games. However, if you don't attend games for your own team, you should keep your mouth shut about other teams fans and their attendance numbers.

Despite a report that the NHL was preparing to take over the Devils, the league said Monday that it feels the team’s ownership is making progress on stabilizing its financial situation.

“I don’t anticipate either the league having to take over the team, or the team having to file for bankruptcy,” NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said.

“We are working closely with the team’s current ownership and progress continues to be made toward a financial restructuring that will ensure the stabilty of the franchise going forward.”

This comes weeks after NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said he was hopeful Devils owner Jeff Vanderbeek would be able to finalize a deal to bring in a new partner and settle a missed debt payment estimated at around $80 million.
