82games has been my personal "do or die" for my fandom/time/interest in the NHL. Get it done.

i would honestly rather see them drop the games we missed and move on from Nov 2nd. i don't watch the NBA, but i do follow it and the injuries during their lock out shortened season were ridiculous. imagine what that could be like in a man's sport...

Should have been this way from day 1 of the talks.
50/50 always seems like a "fair" deal. It will be interesting to see if the players accept it. If they don't, they will look bad even though the owners are the jerkoffs who set up the current deal.

I really don't care about a full season, it's too long as it is. The old 70 game season was fine, the freaking playoffs didn't end in June for christ sake. If they cared about player safety, this would be one way to address it.

FYI to the "player safety of a 82game shortened season" talk; Fehr, who represents the players themselves, said they're interested in a full season (82games) as well.

If the players want it, fine. I know the stinking owners want it, more money for them.

It just seems soooooooooooooooo looooooooooooooong.

I think the numbers are good, though I agree 82 games are ridiculous.

Get it done, Fehr brothers, or you can end up next to Jimmy Hoffa for all I give a damn.

They should just go to a 65 game season already... hard enough to play hockey up here in MA in June nevermind stadiums in FL or LA.

I don't disagree that they owe us fans quite a bit... but do you really want to watch sloppy skating on warm/melting ice in the regular season never mind the playoffs?

Well with a condensed 82 schedule, injuries and concussions will be on the rise. This will give Bettman and the NHL even more ammo for trying to get rid of fighting and hard body checks.

No salary rollback too so that's good

But I want to know a bit more details like the years max for signing free-agent a contract, entry level, etc?
