NHL could expand to Seattle in 3 years

As ludicrous as this sounds with the lock out in effect this is actually a true story.

NHL is over expanded and flooded with ballooned salaries. Last thing it needs is a 32 team league. Move the Coyotes there, Preds, Blue Jackets...leave this expansion crap alone. 30 is already too many.

If a team does ends up in Seattle (which I doubt) it'll be via relocation, not expansion.

They need to contract not expand. What a joke the NHL is.

Exactly !!
All we need is another team that will be in dire straits before they ever get off the ground , how many teams are having financial troubles right now because of miss management and no fans in the seats ??..

I say when Seattle gets its team, we kidnapp Gary Bettman and drop him downtown Quebec City. It'll be fun to watch.

I wouldn't mind 32 teams at all. Could increase the number of enforcers slightly if these two also have them.

Yeah, they should expand the league. Or they could relocate any of the floundering franchises that are losing money. Whatever works. Hey, how are those negotiations going? Is everyone getting along while watching football today? I saw a Tweet that said both sides agreed that Eli Manning is the best QB in the NFC.

there aren't many now with 30 teams, why would that change with 32?

as someone else said and has many stated numerous times prior, the league needs to contract teams, not expand the league.

Contraction wouldn't be good either. Even though fighting and enforcers are all but gone, contraction would make that situation even worse. Eventually a few teams will have to be relocated. And that is the best alternative, IMO.

Been talked about for years, it actually seems like they want an NBA franchise more and they won't be adding both sports. It's a one or the other type of thing.

I honestly think they would get an NBA franchise first. The NHL won't have much of a choice if this lockout goes well into the season. They will have to contract teams.

How about they figure out how to run the league in the current 30 markets before a new market is dragged into this cluster ****?

We're never going to see contraction in the NHL.

Correct, it would be an admission that Bettman has f*cked-up putting teams where he's put them.
