NHL Cancels Remainder of 2012 Preseason

NEW YORK -- The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the remainder of the 2012 preseason schedule.

The cancellation of the preseason schedule was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players' Association and the NHL.

It won't really start to bother me until they start pushing back the regular season. In fact, I'd actually prefer seeing more back to back games if the lock-out goes past the scheduled start of the season. Watching the Flyers 2 nights in a row will be cool!

I know the 2 sides are still far apart, but look at the NFL/Referee situation. They were far apart too at the beginning of this week and then got a deal done at midnight last night.

I would honestly find it astonishing if the league would seriously consider cancelling another season due to a labor dispute. Maybe I have my head up my ass, as I know a lot of you other guys are already assuming the worst, I am just hoping it doesn't come to that.

Anyone who didn't see this happening is somewhere lost in space. This lock out will be a long one.

After Monday Night Football, the NFL was so goddamned embarrassed that they HAD to get a deal done. I can't imagine what would get Bettman working that fast, short of maybe one of those beer league teams winning the right to the Stanley Cup!

The Marlies have a better chance at winning this year than the Leafs and tickets are a fraction of the price.

The last lockout was the worst thing to happen to Toronto, but this one might be the best thing to happen, Im good.

I just have to remember to cancel my hotel reservation for the Winter Classic if this goes on.

Oh well.

Billionaire owners fighting with millionaire players... I'm over it. Guess I've hit the next phase of emotions for this situation.

Boxing and football have my attention, and college puck will be starting up soon. Not to mention high school hockey, which is incredible in this state.

I read somewhere that the owners are more than prepared to scrap the season and that they would consider going two seasons. This is not going to get setteled unless the players cave and I dont see that happening this year since they caved last time. Hockey is done this year and maybe next year too. If that were to happen. Losing two seasons. They NHL would never recover and I would never watch again.

We got it as a press release, before TSN posted it.

If we were to source it, we'd be sourcing ourself, not TSN.

Costs me about 25 dollars round trip for gas from St.Thomas and about 20 dollars a ticket to take in a game in Hamilton and 10 dollars for parking . 5 of us can attend a game in Hamilton for around 135 dollars , in Toronto I have to take out a mortgage on my house for 5 PPL to attend a Leaf's game ..

It's like that in all pro sports. For a family of 4 to go to just about any pro game cost about 4 hundred bucks.
