Know what's funny? NHL and owners are whining that they lost $100 million from the lost preseason games and now they cancelled first two weeks of regular season. NHLPA and Fehr told the owners that they are willing to play while negotiating for new deal and that way the owners wouldn't lose anything. Of course, they don't want any games to be played until the deal is done.

dumb.
I don't know how much of that is just lip service to try and get the fans on their side... and how much is truth.

At this point I'm just sick of it all. Why not just make it 50-50 and get back on the ****ing ice.

It seems obvious to me that the owners are more than willing to nix the entire season, and seeing as the players caved in last time I dont see them doing it again. Intersting to see what happens next summer if and when they lose this season, how willing the owners will be to compromise or will the players cave under the threat of a 2nd season lost season.

is it in the best interest of the players though to go another season without hockey? we all know athletes aren't that savvy when it comes to their money and a regular job isn't gonna cut it for most in the league. there are only so many spots in the ahl, chl and echl, hell even in europe (due to import rules and insurance stuff).

that said idk how this is going to end and particularly i don't care either, but i think the players may be the ones ending up having to cave. the owners may be losing money, but at the same time, they are also saving a lot of money for each day that is lost due to the lockout.

I agree. In the end the players are going to lose one way or the other. Thats why I wouldnt be surprised if the owners are willing to go two seasons locked out. It will never happen (losing 2 seasons). All the owners have to do is wait and the players will cave. The players should have caved right from the get go. They would have lost less money. Will the players by the end of 2012 realize this and cave or will they just let the season go to waste just to cave next summer?

I agree with you man.

One thing I know for sure is that Pegula don't give a crap about revenue stuff. He bought Sabres for fun...to win. Like he said...if he wants to make money, he'll just drill some more for oils. It's other greedy owners. Some owners are fine but some are not.

I had to go back and look, didn't really pay attention, turns out the Ducks are paying 5% for held money, and 1% from date of scheduled game to the time they cut the check if you want a refund.

I'm so out of touch with this, that I didn't hear this news for 24 hours. I unfollowed every NHL personality on twitter except a few former players.

I called directv, and told them i do not want to renew my center ice package and if they do it automatically, they will never get another dime from me. I think I may even stay away from the AHL, since the two teams I like are owned by Terry Pegula and Chuck Wang.

Screw 'em.

Apparently the cock sucking Fehr brothers were meeting with dildo Daly and **** stick Bettman yesterday and will touch base again today.

Excuse me while I wet myself in optimism.

We do plan on having an exchange and lets just say if the dildos shined when we touch base he might even get to 3rd.

A lot of fans tend to forget that most Billionaire owners own their team strictly as a "HOBBY" they are saving truckloads of money every day the league is shut down .
How many teams have lost money every year , or have to be bailed out every year by the teams that make a profit ??
I am with you , the owners are laughing all the way too the bank when it comes to saving their money on their costly hobbies ..

And that's really the big thing for players and everyone to realize, the owners WANT to lose these games in October and November. They're the least attended, and least televised (on national broadcasts), so they don't gain anything. Matthieu Schneider and Trevor Linden have both already said this (hell, Linden said it months and months ago, I think back in April).

I know Craig Leipold, the Wild owner, has point blank said he doesn't run this team for the money but as a hobby and as a fan. With how successful his business ventures are/were, he doesn't care at all to lose the $6-$10M he's losing on the Wild (but surely covering with HRR as a whole, that isn't included in business reports).

Betteman is a condescending little puke! He stated that "I'm not concerned with the fans being angered and staying away from hockey if the season starts because we have the best fans in the world" (TRUE!) but the only sincere part of his statement is I'M NOT CONCERNED WITH THE FANS (PERIOD!) Would love if the fans boycotted a few games when and if the season starts and maybe make them think for a minute!

This hurts but it is true. You must band together against me when the season starts, if and when my cast iron, leprechaun fist of fury allows it to.
