What a joke the NHL is. F'ing bush league. I hope it goes down and burns. I'm tired of it.

The NHL isn't the joke. Its the players playing in it.

With there being no NHL hockey i am going to more junior games then i normally do. Good affordable hockey and the players are not totally corrupted yet.

in this situation fehr is the bad guy...the nhl gave a proposal to the players that was more fair and actually had numbers ran for it to prove it. fehr then came back with 3 proposals that barely came back to a 50/50 split within 5 years with no guarantee of it actually happening either.

i didn't choose sides until that day when fehr gave a proposal without numbers...that is as unprofessional as it gets. if you want someone to take you seriously, have numbers to back up what you're proposing or don't bother showing up.

if you went to a meeting with your bosses to bid on a job, you'd make sure you have all costs figured out wouldn't you?

I'd really wish the owners would bring up their AHL guys, and start a scab league, then lets see how many of these bitchy millionaires decide to come over and play.

Drop ticket prices and merchandise prices, bring up the AHL guys, bring in other guys from the ECHL and other minor-pro leagues, and lets see how long it takes for the players to funnel back.

Keep in mind, there are a lot of players who are not liking this lockout. Locally, Matt Cullen, who has a very short window of playing time left, is thoroughly pissed about it and just wants to play hockey. And I'm sure there are plenty of star players out there that could care less about the money and just want to play.

if you want to talk about unprofessional, do u remember the owners original offer? or the fact that bettman released all the details of the latest offer to the press after telling the nhlpa they shouldnt negotiate in the press? im not choosing sides. a 50/50 split is more than fair, the rest of the details need to be worked out. everyone is losing $ right now b/c of huge egos.

i do, but that's how most negotiations start, with some low-ball offer that won't get accepted then the other side makes a proposal, then in the end usually both meet near the middle. releasing the details of the offer doesn't mean much to me. they put it out there for people to see that both sides wouldn't be getting screwed and trying to keep fan support in the league, ongoing.

the players act like a rollback is going to kill them...they get an escrow check every year that will cover what they would lose. it didn't before...

I'm starting to care less and less the more it goes on... at first I was never one of those who claimed they wouldn't watch it anyways. F*ck that... as soon as the NHL comes back I'm going to watch it, but I'm no longer devastated or anything. I'm content watching the Marlies and the games are actually affordable.

Take your time with the lockout you greedy f*ckers!

You can really tell a lot about a person from reading their responses to this lockout, for instance I can see who the white collar right wingers whose toughest part of their day is whipping their azz are and you can tell who the brainwashed rush limpball, shaun hannity fans are and I can tell the hard working people as well.

This is really just a more publicized example of what's going on all around the country between the rich ceos, owners and the people that do all the work to make those people rich. The corporation I work for has made record sales of over a BILLION dollars and record profits of well over 100 MILLION the last 3 years yet they continue to cut it's work force, have held back pay raises for 5 straight years and cut back on our pensions and health care every time a contract comes up. Yet somehow they find ways to pay bonuses to the corporate stooges and upper management that total more than my years pay every year. I'm not alone either and I'm sure there's dozens of people on this site going through the same thing I am if not worse.

I sure wish I had a union rep like Donald Fehr to stand up for me and get back what I deserve and I'm sure there's a lot of hard working people like myself thinking the same thing right now. The players deserve everything they get because it's them that's taking the health risks, it's them whose careers only last a few short years and it's them who the people pay to see play the game.

For all you right wingers taking the owners sides you're dead wrong and you would know that if you ever did a hard days work in your life. Nobody and do mean NOBODY is paying money to go watch the owners sit in their box.

i wouldnt care about releasing the details either, except bettman specifically said it would be bad for negotiations.

Piss off grumpy...i work hard everyday and dont sit in an office as a pusher paper or making phone calls. For you to bring politics into this is gutless as well because did you ever think that some of us dont give a flying **** about politics? Youre just pissy because every game wont have 10 fights, 2 brawls and blood spewing each and ever night because youre stuck in the 1980's
