NHL Cancels Regular Season Games Through November 1st

NEW YORK – The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through November 1. A total of 135 regular-season games were scheduled for Oct. 11 through Nov. 1.

The cancellation was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players' Association and the NHL.

Seems from the lack of posts here that people are all set with the NHL's BS and maybe that's a good thing. I thought that whether it was a PR ploy or not Tuesday by the league it was a start and the players should've agreed to that much and continued the negotiating process throughout the season while playing(isn't that what the players proposed a couple of weeks ago?! Or was that PR BS also, to get the fans on their side?! HMMM?) I was set to watch if they decided to start the season Nov.1st, but now I'll do exactly what I did when they came back from the last lockout and that would be to skip a couple of seasons myself. Goodbye and good riddens to the NHL for a good while.

Okay guys quick updates on the discussions, both sides have agreed on butt ****ing this sport into the ground, but, we are still very far apart on how far down it will go. Highlight of the meetings was when Crosby's boyfriend brought us all starbucks.

Ok, make it 50/50 and current contracts honoured (as I feel they should), but then make every new contract non-guaranteed afterwards, NFL style. That's right, players being held accountable for playing poorly. How's that?
