NHL Cancels Regular Season Games Through January 14th
NEW YORK -- The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through January 14. The cancellations are necessary due to the absence of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players' Association and the NHL.
A total of 625 regular-season games—50.8 percent of the season—were scheduled for October 11 through January 14. |
Nothing to see here, move along.

What the hell is the NHL?

Next announcement will be the cancellation of the remaining season. I have a hunch their internal deadline is around January 20.

Who really cares at this point.I thought I would miss the game, but I really don't as much as I thought I would. When they do come back.I'll go back.Especially since I won't have to kick up any cash for tickets next year.So by all means get this over with and cancel the season...

Probably the last cancellation of games before the cancellation of the entire season. Slim chance, but I still have a tiny bit of hope they can reach a deal.
|
Now that half the season is gone and there are other sports to occupy my time, I cancelled NHL Network. I'll be a fan again when both parties come to their senses, but in the meantime life goes on.

When there is a season opener some time next year, if nobody showed up to watch we'd get what we want in a day... Let's unite for one day.
