What makes you think that? Surely nothing you read on this site because 99% of the members here have their lips so firmly planted to bettmans azz his anal pubes are stuck between their teeth. If I've learned one thing from being a long standing member of this site it's that hockey fans have ZERO backbone and ZERO commitment to do what they believe is right, pretty much like americans in general.

Those of of who have been around long enough have had to endure over 20 years of seeing this once great sport turned into a boring, no hit, puzzy sport and the few true hockey fans that were/are members that have taken a stand and quit watching everything but the fights are ridiculed non stop to the point they leave the site.

Yes the league will struggle, yes there will be lots of empty seats and yes there will be a couple teams going bankrupt but there already is that now so what changes? This work stoppage will do nothing to change anyone or anything. Whenever the league begins again, whether it's 2013 or 2014, they'll all be back swallowing whatever garbage product is put on the ice and calling it the "greatest sport on earth" because that's what the spineless, so called "hockey fans" do and bettman and the owners know it.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Why single out Americans?

I've been doing the for almost 5 years now. I'm out of market for the Rangers and refuse to pay to watch.

Every sport is like that. You cant single out hockey. People will come back and they know it. The problem the NHL can have here is that this could affect the broadcast deals from major networks. Think NBC is happy that they have to pay for the rights to broadcast this year, hockey or no hockey. I'd think twice before bidding big bucks to to business with the NHL if I was a network executive after another lost season.

I never understood why the 'winter classic' was so important. I mean, with the way the NHL is watered down there has not been a single one I have been interested in. (I'm not from the northeast so maybe that is why?)

Nice to see our little sister country adopting some of our more pleasing traits.

I agree the NHL will be fine after the lock out. It is the only hockey league that gets decent nation wide T.V. coverage in America. Until another league provides stiff competition for the NHL, the majority of the fans are in their back pocket.

The interest in the league for me has pretty much dwindled down to nothing. Have not watched a full game since the Bruins Cup run and have already quit playing the EA NHL series. I dont give a crap how long the lockout lasts, Ill check up on the league when its back but I think my die hard days are pretty much done for.

No, it's the Pens' turn again...against the Flyers.

Get off your elitist high horse dude. You're a fight fan, you aren't a Hockey fan. No hits? No physicality? You could have been watching Hockey in the 80's and if fights were banned at that time you'd have not watched and claimed it a ***** sport then as well. A ***** sport is soccer, baseball, basketball...things americans seem to love, including football which is ultra slow(but good). Hockey is still great and that's why people still watch. Die hards watch. Americans aren't ingrained with it. Some are, but most just are not. Up here however, people will return to it. It's like Ferraro said, people like to claim they are done with the sport and all but everyone gets excited when they hear positive news stemming from this mess..once it's back on, people will flock to it, because there is nothing better out there to watch. Certainly nothing better to play.

As for your fights which you love, and hey, so do many others including myself...there still are fights and they are still permitted. So you be a hypocrite and go watch some other sports where fighting is not allowed, like your football and basketball and baseball, which you guys all seem to still love. Hockey is the WHOLE package, and it's a package no other sport can compare with.

Looks like both sides are feeling the pinch. Already 2 8 hour meetings in the last 7 days.
