The Penguins tipped ~50%. If the Bruins tipped 10% that would be cheap in comparison.

Plus their bill probably totaled over $500 so 10% would be $50. **** I'm getting off-topic but servers who talk **** about getting a bad tip make me want to leave nothing.

Anyways nice post staal4pm.

That is a f*cking awesome story and it also makes me sick, seen as I live in the UK and that will never happen!!

You just get football (soccer) players over here, who are basically just complete arrogant tools who earn £100k a week, that would just never happen. Great read!

Awesome story Stall! I did not really even notice the length, which is a testament to how well it was written. Letang dominating you in your personal hockey shoot out...Max calling your friend a pu$$y...EPIC!

In high school I work at a higher echelon restaurant in Pittsburgh and without question hockey players were the best. I felt baseball players weren't bad either, but then again Pittsburgh doesn't have any high end salaries or players so that skews that judgment a bit. Football was hit and miss, Troy Polamalu was just as he seems on TV extremely polite and friendly--plus a great tipper as well as many other palyers...although, overall NFLers had more of a chip on their soldier. When Jagr moved to Pittsburgh he lived in my neighborhood and was always really friendly towards myself and others even when he became more famous.

Regardless, amazing story that was very well written. Definitely jealous.

That's awesome. I saw Ike Taylor in a bar last year and asked him who he was covering that weekend. He said Reggie Wayne. I think he was drinking iced tea. Your story is probably cooler.

Whose names did you have to change? Yours? your friends? the Pens?

After they had gotten out of the door I look at my girlfriend and we both have the same look on our faces: That…was…AWESOME! After a few minutes of excitedly recounting to each other what we had just seen and how cool it was our food comes. I ask the waitress, “Did those guys tip well?” and motioned toward the table where they had been sitting. She says, “Yeah, about 50%. Most of the Bruins were cheapskates so I’m glad all hockey players aren’t that way.” As she leaves my girlfriend says, “They’re still out there. I wonder what they’re doing?...Hey, one’s coming back in. Maybe he forgot something. He’s coming over here!”

FU Bitch....

Excellent dude! Great story! Reminds me when Talbot, Kennedy, and I drank at Club Diesel here in Pittsburgh (other Pens were there, but were looking for cougars ) Also when we went to see the Pens play in Chicago we ate with Mike Ditka at his restaurant, along with Phil Borque, Mike Lang, and Dan Potash.

Excellent story.

Awesome story. Obviously not a Pens fan, but it just goes to show that hockey is freaking the greatest sport. What other sport has professional mingling with the community like that.

Apparently Evgeni Malkin was having a candlelit dinner with Sergei Gonchar uptown, which explains their absence from the party.

Cool story. I went to high school with Rob Scuderi.
I used to go to Napper Tandy's in East Northport, NY and would see Mick Vukota from time to time. He got a plaque on the wall for consuming 1000 pints.
