The only good thing about the lockout coming to an end is not having to hear about the god damn lockout anymore. Instead that bitching and moaning will be replaced by media wimps complaining about hitting and fighting.
Never heard one thing about the lockout in Phoenix.

I agree, I'm sick of hearing about it. It's front page stuff here because we have a team, the Lightning, it's their 20th season which is a big deal, and there is optimism about the team and I don't think anyone wanted to see Martin St. Louis lose another season out of his career or certainly not Stamkos, 2 exciting players to watch for any hockey fan.

Nobody wanted to see hockey lose a season which is why these buttholes, Fehr, Bettman, etc should have hammered out a deal last year, this work stoppage stuff is just unacceptable, they use it as leverage so one side will cave in and we the fans suffer. Heads should roll because of this.

Yeah, I'll watch some Lightning games if I think about it but I won't spend any money at all. I have better places to put my entertainment dollars, right between a Leah's or Tiffany's tits!

You may not buy any tickets this season - nor will I - however, you'll be watching the games just like the rest of us. It's not like Buffalonians have anything better to do.

That would be me. And I said it because it's the damn truth, like it or not.

We aren't nearly as annoying as the many new NHL fan boys that act as though hockey is "better than ever" which is complete bull****. Most of those people have no idea what good hockey is because they've never seen it. Go ahead and enjoy your NHL. If you don't like hearing others speak the truth about the league I'd suggest refraining from reading anything that isn't pro-NHL. On a site like this there will be a lot of it. And for good reason.

Looking forward to first Flyers/Pens game since the nasty playoff round. Neal and Giroux have some explaining to do to each other.

The league and "your" team quit on YOU.... and truth be told they couldn't give a **** about you as a "fan" anyway... they only care about your $. They love the "fans" like you who will continue to say how "real" they are and continue to support the NHL no matter what they do or how much they can ruin or water down the game/ league. You're an enabler.

If you don't think that the quality of physical hockey has gone downhill since the LAST lockout, then I don't know what to tell you FE.

If you define being a "real" hockey fan by crawling back to the NHL with open wallets and arms, then we have a differing view.

Ok then. Thanks for clearing everything up on who's a real fan of overpaid hockey players and who isn't. I watched a lot more local hockey during the lockout and have to say that I didn't miss the NHL as much as I thought I would. Now, I doubt that I will ever support the league the way I used to. Not just because of the lockout but many other reasons have been piling up over the years.

other notes on this specifically

Quote:
Teams can retain salary/cap hit for up to three SPCs, to a maximum aggregate cap hit of 15 per cent of upper limit.
Quote:
Up to 50% of SPC can be retained in trade. An SPC can be traded twice with salary/cap hit retained.
Quote:
That’s about $9.6M in cap money teams can retain in trades, under a $64.3M upper limit.

I agree that the "new" NHL is not as good as the old NHL. But you cant change what you cant control. It sucks at times but its better than nothing. And I for one am glad that they settled and I will enjoy watching the Rangers and I will enjoy going to some games with the guys and enjoy bringing my little one to his first game!!
