Jaromir Jagr moving up in NHL's top 10 all time

Jagr is 4 points short to get Joe Sakicīs spot, he will end up his NHL career on 8th spot points alltime, just below Mario, symbolically. NHL top ten does not change every friday, so lets make a thread and wish Jagr all the best.

It would be interesting to happen February 18th against the Pens.

And who made more points than no. 68 in NHL history?

Seven players:

Gretzky
Messier
Howe
Francis
Dionne
Yzerman
Lemieux

Thanks for the memories, buddy

You know how I feel about him personally, but I will give him credit where credit is due. He has had a fantastic career and will be a first-ballot HOF'er. That's about all you're going to get out of me.

You'll get over it when he retires, just like Flyers fans got over Lindros.

He's a diva, but he is also one of the best to ever play, so congrats to him.

I remember when he was a rookie, I was a kid, he's just always been around! Congrats to him for lasting so long in hockey, you could only hope to play the game you love for as long as he has.

If Jagr didn't go to Russia for 3 seasons he would of probably been sitting around Howe's number of 1850 pts. He could of had a legit chance to be #2 All-time if he would of stayed in the NHL, Messier is second with 1887 pts. If Jagr would of averaged 75 points during those 3 seasons he would of had he would of passed Messier by seasons end. Jags would of also been apart of the 700 goal club too. Pretty impressive career.

Has he announced for sure that this is his last year? He could surpass Mario theoretically, he's not even 40 yet and is still producing.

No I've heard Jagr say he would be happy to sign another one year deal with the Flyers for next season.

i hope he stays around. he's an entertaining player to watch. he's got lots of skill even for an older player and i think there's a lot he could teach the younger players on the flyers.

I never thought he was a head case or a diva. He was just a young, homesick kid with galactic talent and the pressure that comes with it.

His power play with Lemieux was BY FAR th best I've ever seen.

Good luck to him, he deserves to be in the top 3-5.

Jagr and Mario together...that was even not fair against the opposing teams...god they were much worse than Sakic and Forsberg..
Jagr was able to deke everyone in the World and Mario made sure that the puck will end up in the net. All that in the times when defencemen were permited to knock the forwards heads off

BTW Jagr is 40 tomorrow

Ok

I could see Jagr in his prime putting up 120-150 points a year in this NHL with no holding, no red line, no aggression and no checking. Guy was unstoppable when you could basically do anything you wanted to stop someone...Today he would be ridiculous

I'm not so sure about that. Theres a lot more guys his size nowadays, and I think half the reason he was so good is that guys tried to outmuscle him or play him physically and knock him off the puck... and we all know how well that turned out. I don't know if I've ever seen another player as solid on their skates as Jagr, it seemed like guys would literally jump on his back and he'd just shrug them off and torch the goalie over and over again. I could be wrong, but I think his style of play was much more suited to beating a clutch and grab style of defending than a positionally sound one.

Its amazing to watch him on the puck even now. He just strolls through players he doesnt even need to be fast now.
