Can't stand him. He singlehandedly made me dislike the Sabres. I hate his shrill voice. I don't know why or how anyone can listen to him and enjoy it. His son is a hell of a lot worse though. More shrill if you can believe it.

I really like him. And given the hate on a Sens fan like I has had for the Sabres over the years, that's saying a lot, I think.

Sabres fans love him... Others hate him. Pretty much standard for every announcer who isn't a monotoned robot.

His voice is not good, his play by play is pretty good, but his goal call makes me want to stick an icepick in my temple.

I love the guy. Is he ridiculous and over the top a lot of the time? Without a doubt. But there is no denying his passion for the sport and he can make a boring game sound entertaining. Not to mention how crazy he gets during fights. He can also make a boring fight sound like a slug-fest.

At the end of the day I'd prefer listening to a guy like that than some boring monotone broadcaster that puts you to sleep. That is if the new NHL hasn't already put you to sleep.

This post sums my thoughts up, especially the bit I bolded. Theres no finer thing in sports than seeing someone who passionatley beleives in what they are doing.

He likes the fights which is cool, but his voice is unbearable. I can't stand listening to one second of him.
