Ovie - this is an easy one.
I love Iggy and Malkin had a great year, but when you win the scoring title, the Rocket Richard title and lead a really lousy team to the playoffs you get the big shiny trophy.....

While Malkin came on incredibly strong in the absence of Sidney Crosby, and proved to be arguably more valuable than Sid to the Pens winning in the regular season, it took that injury for him to raise his game to the dominant level. However, Ovechkin was there for pretty much the whole year, and without him, there's no way in hell the Caps come anywhere near a playoff spot.

Iginla might have had the most points this year, but I think Ovechkin was still the best player in the league (since Crosby was hurt) ... but after this year, Ovechkin is really challenging Crosby for that "best player in the league" title. Ovechkin is an incredible, all-around player. He gets my vote for this award. He's the future of the NHL and was a major part of of Caps making the playoffs this season. Major props to Ovy ... he has some real hockey talent.
