This is the one "strange" hockey market that seems to work. I do not know why, and personally it seems by my theories that Dallas should be as miserable as all the other southern states, but it somehow feels better.

SO this is a useless post, yes, but this thread needed to be bumped up to the other ones anyway.

Once this team starts making the playoffs again (they have a solid team right now), they'll get back to their old attendance numbers.

There is some nice pointmen, even Steve Ott is scoring nice points this season.
Morrow, Ribeiro(who is most talented in the offense and with his skills in the team), Eriksson, Richards(big pointman, best player) and few good defensemen.
Neal is also very good forward.

Great fanbse, just need to fix the ownership. They have one of the best young teams in the league. Benn, Neal, Erickson, etc.

For several years after they won the cup the team sold out every home game.. Amazingly the attendence needed to be taken halfway thru the second period as most of the "cocaine and boob job crowd" didnt make an entry until then. You know, the gotta be seen entry? Anyway, once Mark Cuban bought the Mavericks and they started being successful it actually effected the Stars attendence, which baffles me. But I submit to you the afore mentioned "cocaine and boob job crowd" who seem to be everywhere stylish at the moment.

And has been mentioned before, once the teams starts being successful again attendence will rise again.

Dallas is certainly an odd market. They don't have a lot of hockey fans in general, but the fans come out for the Stars when they play well, or even when they are just doing OK. They're hitting a bump in the road, but they are still drawing decent crowds, good for a lower ranking team.

Git er done!

Keep em. They built a succesful franchise that just happens to be hurting along with the rest of the economy. Crawford's got em playing his brand of fire wagon hockey and their climb to the top of the Western conferance should help to solidify this team's future.
