You turn on a game right after the road team scores a soft goal and you complain the building is quiet?

I can assure you both building have been plenty loud.

I was in Tampa for two games of the Pens series...that building gets really loud. They have a great atmosphere there. To say otherwise is flat out incorrect.

Congratulations to the Lightning. They clearly wanted each of these games more than the Caps did.

Hopefully Baldy McFat-Fat is gone after this.

Tampa was my team in this series but that reffing was brutal, definately biased in Tampa's favor, then so much of the game was make up calls for the missed ones... NHL you gotta open the ref camps this summer and bring in some new zebra's! tough break washington, I know how you feel as I've been cheerin for Nashville.

I did not see this coming at all. Not only a series win, but a sweep to boot!

Congrats to the Bolts fans.

The St. Pete Times Forum is as loud a building you'll find in hockey. While its not Montreal, its pretty friggin loud. Especially louder than any building you'll find below the Mason–Dixon Line.

The fans may not be hockey crazie, but sports fans are pretty passionate around here. Though mainly because of the makeup of the transplants who've become hockey fans. And we drink a lot of beer.

Really? Not even Washington fans will tell you the refs had any sort of bias for Tampa.

The officiating is always bad no doubt, but if you think the NHL would have any sort of favor for Tampa over Ovechkin you might be high.

I was gonna say, it looed like a pretty decent crowd. I was surprised. Overly loud, no. But still a crowd. Better you can say for other southern teams. Anytime you see a packed house its good to see.

"Another disappointing playoff loss for the Capitals. Year after year they finish near the top of the league, and year after year they have trouble getting past the 2nd round." - Versus Announcer. Atleast the Capitals are done before the Flyers. AGAIN. Capitals suck. Bears suck.

Mainly directed at the loser bandwagon Caps fans that like the Hershey Bears in the Central PA area.

Say what you want about the Caps, but Hershey was the two time defending Calder Cup champs before being ousted by Charlotte this year.

Agreed. Whoever said that is just bitter. I am bitter, but in no way did the officials favor any one team. There were tons of terrible calls all around and nothing more. Lot's of calls does favor Tampa cause their PP is better, but overall it was pretty evenly sketchy officiating.

Not trying to sound like an ass, but while they're may be transplant hockey fans. IMO all of these "fans" came out of the woodwork just for the playoffs and will fade into oblivion once this season is over.

Can't speak for the season, but last night it was basically silent until the game was over and TB won. Tonight it was a little louder and there seemed to be a little more noise in the stands.

Your comment about the M-D line is probably pretty accurate though.
