"The" Dive heard around the World: Joe Thornton
I do not believe the following:

1. Fighting should be banned
2. The instigator should be banned
3. The piddly interference calls should be in place

What I do believe in is the hockey code. It's not just about fighting, but it's playing the game the right way. Joe Thornton did something embarrassing that no 2 minute diving call can justify. He dove in a Stanley Cup game and then acted as if hurt.

You know what though? I don't blame Jimmy on this one. I blame Bettman and the league's officiating. They have created a game of false alarms and this is the byproduct of such falsifications.

That was a blatant dive, but that seems to be the theme of the Playoffs lately.....here are some more dives I could make a lengthy video of all of the Habs dives but I'll spare you.

It's the most embarrassing thing that happens in hockey no matter what team it is. I don't know about you guys but I get even more disgusted when a guy on my team does it, blackhawks, especially in the playoffs. The best justice to this practice is when the other team scores while a guy is laying on the ice faking an injury.

The whole idea in the playoffs is to win anyway you can. If you don't think so you're crazy.
99% of you, if you were playing right now in these playoffs, would do anything to win.

In Thornton's defence, Detroit ranks up there as some of the biggest divers the sport as ever seen. Franzen in particular.

Listening to a Wings fan complain about an opponent diving, is as ridiculous as an Obama supporter talking about how dumb Palin is.

The Canucks are by far the worst team in the NHL for this garbage... I can honestly find like 20 clips of those euro fairies diving around like idiots.

Vancouver makes Montreal look tough when it comes to diving...

sad to say this diving BS will not stop until you throw these guys out of the game for 'travesty of the game' or something like that. suspend them, do something. and stop frickin calling a trip/hook/whatever and call the other guy for a dive. he either dove or he didn't.
