Scuderi is such a puss by the way. It hasn't been mentioned but he cowered away the whole came. Its bad enough he hid behind Ivanans the whole night, but he wouldn't even fight RJ Umberger who challenged him to a fight a few times throughout the game and again with six minutes left in the third. He turned down Jason Chimera among a few other Jackets players during the game too. I wish one of them would have just jumped him, but thats why the Kings had Ivanans out there every shift after the incident.

Jason Chimera On Scuderi’s hit …

“It’s a dirty hit. There’s no room in the game for that kind of (expletive). A guy takes your knees out, what are you supposed to do? It wasn’t a hip check at all. It was a direct hit on the knee. That’s the way it goes, I guess. And he doesn’t want to fight after a hit like that, either. I landed on my face, on the ice. My neck was squished against the ice. I’m lucky I don’t have a concussion or something. It’s a dirty hit and there’s no room in the game for it. Too many guys now are getting carried off the ice on a stretcher. It’s just dirty stuff. It shows no level of respect. I don’t care if Scuderi’s a good player. He needs to stick up for himself. You fight after you do something like that to somebody.”

Won't be surprised in the least if someone goes after Scuderi the first moment they play LA next game.

I really wouldn't get your hopes up of Scuderi ever dropping the gloves. Someone might jump him, but I'd fully expect him to turtle. I like Scuderi for all he did in Pittsburgh, but he's a cream puff.

I know he wont drop the gloves, I just want someone next game to force him into a fight and if he turtles pound on him like McCarty did to Lemeiux.

So yeah I would be just as pissed if that happened to me, but to add insult to injury, they freakin gave Chimera a freakin 10 minute misconduct as well!!!

You got to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!

that wasnt even a hip check he practically hit him with his back, that was the worst low bridge i have ever seen.

Good call on the NHL for not suspending Dorsett, but bad form on Nash i understand he's the superstar player, but i mean come on hes fought before and he's wearing the C and all he does is give him a cross check or two, you gotta do whats right there at least in my opinion

Im really glad the NHL didn't suspend Dorsett, but I must say I'm shocked they didnt. The next time these two teams meet should be interesting too bad its so far away.

Imagine if a prime Stu Grimson was on the Jackets. All hell would have broken loose!

lol, dude scuderi is a bitch. He's not known for being dirty, but he probably wouldn't have even fought Martin St Louis, if he came and challenged him. Grimson would have probably unleased the bible on his ass and had him face down on the ice.
I am glad that Dorsett didn't get suspended as that was an incredibly dirty hit, although it does seem like the Islanders get screwed over again suspension wise.

Sweet no suspension!

If you watched the game this guy got a nice cheap shot in on doughty J. Voracek in the 2nd period. Dont think J. Voracek be sticking up for himself either and that was a pretty weak elbow to the head!

after a few times on the faceoff Ivanans was trying to see if Mike Blunden had any balls and no go. So if Dorsett wants some next game he will have to deal with Ivanans and dont think Dorsett be doing to much!!

Only week ago Carkner said Dorsett was a cheap player hopefully Ivanans gets little more time to slap Dorsett up then Carkner did.

Thats what I said. C'mon Rick, do your freakin' job.

And Mike, I don't care if he's a cream puff who doesn't drop the gloves. He's going to be forced to next time these two teams meet. Either that or he's just going to get jumped and pummelled and look like a giant vag.

I'm just saying, it's very unlikely Scuderi will do anything besides get jumped. He probably couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. Actually, I've never seen Scuderi even get mad. Maybe when he's angry, he's a force to be reckoned with.

That was as dirty a hit as they get. To go that low on another play is just unnecessary. Scuderi needs to take a page out of Kyle McLaren's book on how to throw a proper hip check.
**** the officials for saving Scuderi's ass. Dorsett would've fed him his lunch.

Haha. I'm pretty sure we will find that out

A very ugly and dirty hipper.
hip checks are dangerous, but to me its not a dirty play.

scuderi talked about the hit today:

Quote:
Scuderi: hit on Chimera `was low’
Posted by Rich Hammond on 27 October 2009, 1:59 pm

After practice today, Rob Scuderi said he agreed that his check on Columbus’ Jason Chimera was too low, and didn’t argue the fine he received from the NHL yesterday. The maximum fine, per the collective bargaining agreement, is $1,000, so that’s almost certainly what Scuderi got, although it hasn’t been confirmed. After the game, Scuderi was careful in his words about whether or not his hit — which, from replays, seemed to start on the outside of Chimera’s knee — was acceptable. Today, he addressed the hit.

SCUDERI: “I got a call from Colin Campbell yesterday, and he expressed to me that he thought the hit was a bit low. At the time, I hadn’t seen it yet. I did see it later in the day, and I wish I could disagree with his judgment, but it was low. I’ve had a lot of hip checks the last few years, but that one just wasn’t right. It was definitely in a questionable area, and I have to pay my fine.

“It’s the first time I’ve ever been involved in anything even remotely controversial. … If anything, I’m more disappointed in myself, because I’ve always played hard but I’ve always played fair and honest, so it’s not the way I want to be seen as playing in this league. Fortunately, Chimera wasn’t hurt any more.”

Scuderi said he has been attempting to get in touch with Chimera and apologize for the hit.

SCUDERI: “All I can do is give him a call and extend the apology. It’s up to him if he wants to accept it or not. I understand if he’s mad. All I can do is offer it up.”
