This game probably going as expected. Devils figured the have advantage first half because of layoff, but the Flyers have seemed to takeover second half. Heres to a quick and exciting OT.

Devils showed the ability to hang with 'em and the Flyers D still looks suspect. Gonna be a long series. Winner will hang on Brodeur staying healthy, he's been taking some akward bumps all 8 games so far.

after 1st period, flyers dominated. Bryz was very suspect, this game shouldnt have even made it to OT

They showed the ability to hang for the first half until the Flyers shook the rust. The flyers took over the second half. I expected 6 game series, but I am think 5 or less now.

devs had 3 shots in 2nd pd, and 4 shots in 3rd pd, and 5 in OT ,thats pretty solid D. Bryz needs to get his sh1t together

Here are my thoughts after Game 1 from the Devils perspective.

They need to stay out of the box. The Flyers PP is dangerous and the Devils have to minimize the opportunities they give them.

They need to continue to forecheck, pressure Philly's weak defense and keep they Flyers in their own zone. The Flyers look very suspect in their own end and down low. A lot of passing lanes and a lot of room to work. The more they can stay there the less time Philly's offense has to work.

Finally, get more pucks on Bryzgalov. The Devils started to get too cute with the puck. Bryzgalov looks shaky in net and the more pucks on him the better.

This game went pretty much how I expected. A close game where both teams had chances to win the game. Today it was the Flyers. Hopefully the Devils put together another solid effort and steal Game 2 on the road.

And Jagr was quiet all game long. That wont be the case all series long though, which spells doom for NJ.

bryz looked both awesome and terrible at times today. luckily more awesome than terrible. what else can you say about danny b? total vag in the regular season who turns into a monster into a monster in the playoffs, averaging a point a game. dude is a stud. if bryz keeps his head on straight i think the flyers depth will be too much for the devils to handle.

The old hinges seize up when you sit too long. Jagr was a bit rusty in the 1st game of the Pitt series too...he'll warm up and start controlling the low wall soon enough.
