Maybe they were as overconfident about this series as a lot of fans were.

Was at work for the game tonight, so I only caught bits and pieces. I saw the last few minutes of the 2nd and heard the announcers mention the Flyers only had 2 shots on goal in 19 minutes of play...which is awful. They also showed some key saves made by Bryzgalov, which they said how he kept the Flyers in the game and it very easily could have been 5-1. I saw from when the guy who is in for Kovy (Larsann or something I believe) scored and then I saw the final. Flyers probably underestimated NJ without Kovy and got caught.

I like the flyers, but it looks like they think the win is owed to them. It was obvious that the devils want it more, are more persistent and stick to their game plan. Flyers are on the way out, I think.

bryz deserved better from the team in front of him, they completely blew it for him last night. dude was awesome most of the game, but one goal isnt gonna cut it. neither is getting your first shot of a period w/ less than 2 minutes left in the period. the good news is bryz looked good, so if the flyers bounce back and play the way they are capable of, things are looking up.

It was just one game...but wow the Flyers looked awful. That sure didn't look like a team that wants to advance to the next round. Don't these guys know their die-hard, angry fans have been waiting for a Cup since Gerald Ford was president?!

I guess the Devils were more focused on finishing the game last night instead of just being a rabbit, if you don't mind me using a horse racing term on Derby week. That was as dominating an effort as you'll see. I know the Devils are a good team but I thought they would match up better against a team like the Rangers rather than the Flyers. This is just one game so that still may be true but domination like that has to make you think.

Speaking of thinking, maybe Lavi uses his brain after that effort. The Flyers were manhandled and they should be playing Rinaldo and/or Sestito. That team has tons of talent but a lack of grit. Their stars will play a tough game but they need a little more than that.

Try to sit on a one goal lead against any team in the playoffs and you get burned , two shots on goal in the second , and in the last minute of the period .

Can't blame this one on the goaltender , he was left out to dry like yesterdays laundry ..

Did the Flyers look that awful? I had to listen to Pierre Maguire finger himself to their effort for most of the broadcast. It provided a true contrapuntal soundtrack to their lousy effort. Him gushing at end about how dominant and comfortable and secure they were... and how grim it looked for the Devils.

Hopefully he snaps out of his wet dream and calls the games objectively for the rest of the series. Jeezus, I've never heard a more laughably biased commentator.

the excuses he was giving in the second period for the flyers not having a shot were hysterical. it actually looked like they got worse as soon as he started complimenting them in the 2nd. dude is unreal

The Flyers were out banging strippers and doin coke until 5 am, that's the only reasonable explanation for such a sh1tty performance.

They laid a couple of turds in the last series too, something about Hartnell's birthday the night before.

They'll be fine.
