That double minor PK/PP was the dagger tonight for the Caps. After that the Rags were bleeding and couldn't recover. The guys really stepped up on it for the Caps tonight after one of their best PKers (Beagle) was ruled out, especially Hendricks.

With the way these finals are going, Caps are playing the Devils in the ECF.

Very true but I dont know any team that wants to take 5 days off after having so much momentum, that is usualy a killer...at least in the first game anyway. Lets hope the Rags can prevail because a Caps- Devils series would be seriously boring...The NHL needs an LA- Rags Stanley cup

If the Rangers blow this, hockey season is over for me. There is no focking way I am watching NJ vs Washington.

I can only hope that it's NY/NJ with NY and LA winning their series for a cool cup final, otherwise, it's baseball for me.

So far the best series of the playoffs.

Washinton has been the better team in this series but the Rangers are gutsy and I suspect they will win tonight.

So true. but only in the USA do you ever hear concerns about how a network views a sports final.

I am on the other side. Fuk NBC and the networks. Whatever two teams battle it out to the finals deserve it.

Two teams encircling their goaltenders and creating the lowest scoring series of the playoffs is the best one? Neither team has scored more than 3 goals in 6 games.

Great call. You're our oracle. Really.

The only reason a Rags/Devils series would be more exciting than the Caps/Devils would be because of the heated rivalry and all stuff that comes along with it. No doubt it would be great for the NYC-Metro area as there would be huge buzz around here.

That being said, hockey wise, it really doesn't matter who wins out of the Caps and Rags. Both teams play a defense first style game where they collapse in their own zone, block a ton of shots and create offense by counter attacking. They are mirror images of each other which is why we've seen such a tight series.

To say a series will be "boring" without the Rags is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Sorry the Rangers or Caps don't have Bryzgalov in net or Marty letting in a soft goal a game. Goals have been very hard to come by but these teams are not a mirror image at all. The Caps will try and counter more than the Rangers and really who could blame them with the talent they have? The Rangers try and keep the puck deep and create from behind the net. The Caps have done a great job keeping them to the outside and not losing their assignments so while the Rangers have had a definitive advantage in offensive zone time, the Caps have had the better scoring chances overall. It has indeed turned into a great series for fans of hitting and battling but if you want to see goalies sucking then this has not been that great.

Arrogance and stupidity have to be the worst bedfellows for a person to have but at least you try.

Low scoring automatically makes it a bad series?

Ladies and gentlemen what we have here is another new age hockey fan from los angeles who like a lot of goals. Probably likes the shootout for the playoffs.

this has been an outstanding series. Never would have guessed it from looking at the matchup on paper. but both teams have been playing extremely hard and the intensity is very high. But new age sports fan wants a lot of goals so this might not be for him.
