it was a double minor for roughing. still a bit silly though as it looked like greene only got cut from his own stick hitting him.

at least the refs evened it up with that bs tripping call on gionta.

actually it was a high sticking called...the linesman jumped in and helped out which is one of the few instances that they can help with a penalty call.

No way that should have been a double minor for high sticking. That being said, the tripping call on Gionta and the interference on Volchenkov were brutal too.

The officiating was a complete joke tonight, but the Devils deserved that win. Panthers got badly out coached in the first period and didn't bring the intensity from the second period into the third. New Jersey capitalized on their chances and that was the difference.

The Panthers figured it out:

Hit Elias as often as possible and he disappears, rendering the top line useless and slaying the Devils.

Ok, so we have 2.

LOL

I just can't get excited about this series at all, it's like watching paint dry.

Why are either of you in here if you don't care about it then?

What in the world is going on in New Jersey? Devils up 3-0 towards the end of the first to down 4-3 at the end of the second.

The Devils should try staying out of the box.

3 PP goals in 40 mins?

You can't perform in the playoffs without a great defense and the Devils defense is the weakest out of all of the teams in the post season.

They don't hit.
They cough up the puck when they are hit.
They don't have any good shots from the point.
And none of them are exceptional skaters.
The Devils shouldn't even be IN the playoffs right now with this defense.

This team will lose this series and its basically all on Lou.
We passed on getting Dion Phaneuf for crying out loud. That guy would be hitting players with reckless abandon if he was out there.

No defense -> no success in the playoffs.

This was such a typical DeBoer collapse. Believe me, I've seen enough of his blown leads while he coached the Cats and it was like watching him coach the Panthers all over again...
