This will probably be the most boring series of the playoffs. Devils in 6.

Word on the street is that Scott Clemmensen may be the starter for Florida this series (or at least game 1).

Anyway, even though I'm a homer, I can't see Florida beating NJ. NJ in 5.

The Devils have gotten better as the year has gone along and really are a sleeper, but then again so are the Panthers. The problem the Panthers face is trying to stop Kovalchuk and Parise, although that could become easier if Kovalchuk dissapears.

End of the day. Devils in 7 in a long, hard, and tough series.

The Panthers main concern is scoring and they've got to start putting the puck in the net on a more consistent basis. If they can pick up the scoring, I think they could have a chance, but they will have to be pretty solid on the back end and will have to have Theodore get out of his recent slump.

All in all, I'm just happy to finally see some Playoff hockey in Sunrise!
Are you going to be going to any games? I was hoping the panthers would play ottawa so I could have went to see them. Ducks and panthers are my teams, and since the ducks are gone, go panthers!

I'm going this Friday and will go to as many games as I can. There will probably be some nights where our ECHL team has playoff games, but I'll try to get over there as much as I can.

On the series note, it will be interesting to see who starts in net for the Panthers. Theodore hasn't played too well in his last few starts, but he has been the go to guy for Dineen all year. Clemmensen on the other hand has played really well in his last few starts and knows the team he is playing and the arena he would be playing in since he had the stint with NJ before coming to Florida. I would think Theodore would get the call to not destroy his confidence, but we'll see on Friday.

Who's crying? I'm being serious when I say that if you think the Devils have no chance at the Cup then that just confirms they have a serious chance at it. You're predictions are well documented to be god awful in not just hockey, but football and baseball too.

Obviously I think the Devils can make a run at the Cup. They just got their #1 Center back, are deep offensively, have the best PK in NHL history and a motivated Brodeur playing high quality hockey. As a Devils fan watching this team in the playoffs 20 of the last 22 seasons and winning 3 Cups, I know how difficult it is to win the Cup. You have to play a month of top-notch hockey, while getting some lucky bounces and matchups along the way.

In no way am I saying they are the favorites to win it but they absolutely have the talent to make some noise this post season.

Tough series to predict. I'll go with the Devils in six or seven. Although I wouldn't be at all surprised if Florida managed to come out on top.

Devils in 5. Florida doesn't score a whole lot and New Jersey is one of the better defensive team in the East.

Two teams I rarely get to see play...really don't know much about them. Devils should win but will go with the Panthers as they have a few ex-Canucks on the team. I think I voted for the Devils already though.
