This is a ignorant statement. All Tortorella has talked about since he came back to the organization is to develop a core group with homegrown players and supplement the team with a few well chosen leaders like a Richards!
Kreider is the latest kid who he is playing in the playoffs right out of college gaining valuable experience!

He's developed Stepan, Anisimov, DelZotto, Sauer(Hurt), Hagelin, Kreider, Bickel(minor league free agent) in the last few years and wants to have more young Rangers in the future. Throw in guys like Staal, Dubinski, Callahan, Lundqvist, Girardi(overage free agent) who began their Rangers career under Renney. Throw in young players like McDonagh, Boyle, Prust who was great steals by Sather and the Rangers have the 3rd youngest team in the NHL.
They have 4 players over 30 in Fedotenko, Rupp, Richards, and Biron and Hank just turned 30. The rest of the team is under 30 and their farm system is loaded with players. They have 10 drafted players on the roster and 9 playing with Sauer out with a concussion!
In the last 7 seasons they have gone 304-203-67 for a .588 winning percentage and made the playoffs 6 times so they don't draft high to get the best players! They are also very young and Tortorella all season has made the point that the team has come together faster than he thought it would and our future is very bright!
These are NOT the 1997-2003 Rangers that missed the playoffs 7 years in a row and tried to buy wins! They have 2 high priced free agents in Gaborik and Richards and they are in great Cap space moving forward!
In the future we may see guys like Erixon, McIlrath, St Croix, Miller, Thomas, just to name a few!

•The Rangers signed Scott Gomez to a fat contract.

•The Rangers signed John MacLean at the first chance they could.

If the Devils organization put their skate sharpening machine on ebay the Rangers would set an online auction record trying to buy it.

And yet the Devils never try to sign any Rangers players.
And yet the Rangers have not won ANY championships in the 18 years of scavenging from our scraps. And to this day the Rangers STILL don't develop talent. They even found a coach with a system that doesn't need that much talent.
And the Devils sign Russian guys from organizations like the Atlanta Flames to lifetime contracts. Real smart.

Oh SH!T. I missed the window. Have you notified your community about these strict parameters for verification as a hockey fan?

I know. Other teams are standing in line to sign Stepan, Anisimov, DelZotto, Sauer(Hurt), Hagelin, Kreider, Bickel and the like.

Hell, maybe we'll sing some of these guys! We clamor over other teams to sign players that have been developed by the Rangers organization!
That is to say, we never do.

18 years and we have 3 Cups.

18 years and your organization hasn't developed ANY proven players!

Yeah and meanwhile the Devils can't beat the Rangers when it counts.

You are almost right about the proven player part but I feel very confident that this current crop of young players that have been developed over the last few years will end the need for over spending on free agents even those from the Devils. Certainly not opposed signing a kid like Parise though. We can certainly use the scoring.

The truth is the Rangers are a team on the rise and the Devils are hoping for one last blaze of glory. We shall see how it turns out starting tonight.

most teams would take Del Zotto, Sauer, Stepan, Krieden and Anisimov before they would overpay for a ***** ass euro named Marek Zidlicky or pay out the ass for a World Championship phenom in Ilya Kovalchoke...oh wait the Devils aren't gonna be able to afford anybody soon, so it's a moot point.

also the rags depth in the ahl and future is far better than the depth and future in albany

Dylan McIlrath, J.T. Miller, Tim Erixon, Ryan Bourque is better than anything in the devils organization currently and its not close

Yeah good point, his $6.6 million cap hit is going to destroy the franchise
