My son has a collection of Flyers players jerseys he has been collecting for years , he also has a custom made one of a kind Flyers jacket that was a gift from his mother and me that is his most prized hockey possession , we had it hand made for him , he also has a priceless hockey card collection that is worth a small fortune , some pictures that are one of a kind also , he is not about too burn any of his hockey paraphernalia , he is collecting it for his children , he is not about to burn any of his collection ..

PS:: He also has a complete WHA card collection of every player that ever played in the WHA , rookie cards and all ..

The only way burning a jersey out of protest makes sense is if you have a mass burning in front of the arena. If 1000 people are burning jerseys outside the Forum, that has more pull than one dude burning in his back yard.

I bought a McSorley jersey. Wouldn't that piss the NHL off more?! Haaaaaaaaa!

Buy a knock off jersey from China, and then send a tweet the NHL and post on their FB that you're going to burn it. Be sure to point out that you've purchased a knock off just to avoid giving them any sort of money during your protest.

That's a win-win-win.

I'm looking at getting a new jersey (or two...or three). They'll be minor league or junior jerseys though! They'll be guys who are willing to scrap too. There's my 'jersey protest'. Lol.

I totally agree with you.

It would have been a pleasure to talk smack to each other, then share a beverage or two while we watched the "boys" go at it.

Burning your jersey is just burning your own money. Might look good, but the NHL already has your money, so they don't really care. I'd never think of burning my Rob Ray jersey. In fact, I'll still wear it with pride whenever I go to Amerks games. That is from a different era in the NHL, when the game was played right.

This is exactly the fan mentality that endorses and even encourages the league and players to behave the way they do. They (players and owners) treat fans with disdain because the vast majority of fans are like dogs who return to their vomit. They take fans for granted and don't give a **** about us because they know we'll be back and will bring our wallets with us. If we, the fans, stick it to them perhaps we will see a league that actually cares about who they put product on the ice for. Until then, expect the same BS every 3 or 4 years.

So some newbie burns his Pacioretty or Price jersey for symbolic reasons. Cool. Who gives a fvck. Sport will survive the current insanity, and maybe Bettman takes a hike soon. Hell,i'd be happy with that chump Ziegler back! Won't kill my love for the game and its history!

Chilly666 is a union homer. Probably worked in the auto sector before unions almost killed it and had to eat crow in order to survive. No he's a fat bellied, beer chugging slob who lives in his mothers basement because is union negitiated pension was clawed back and he didn't have the mental capacity to invest on his own. Sucks to be him...
