Best Playoff Hockey?

The playoffs thus far have been unreal, at least 2 OT games a night thus far, countless goals at the death, and crazy hits, fights, and scrums!

This is easily the best playoff hockey we as fans of this site have seen in sometime. I can't remember a playoffs like this post lockout! Just good to see.

But they let everyone walk from the Sharks/Blues game and that was some of the best rough stuff Ive seen in a while.

11 of the first 15 games have been decided by 1 goal (assuming you don't count Browns empty netter in Game 1 of LA-Van)

Good to see most of the series developing animosity 2 games in.

just to jump on the point made in Humpzilla's thread...thats why these games are exciting..because its not just two 6'4 250 goons going through the motions of a 5 minute penalty for 60 seconds, its actually raw passion and unpredictability.

Easily the best hockey I've seen since the lockout. It's also no coincidence. More intensity and emotion, fighting and less chintzy penalties called (like during the regular season) = far more entertaining hockey. Unfortunately there will be many people that will continue to overlook that fact and plenty of media wimps whining and complaining about how rough and mean the sport is. All of those people can **** off.

How NBC has been handling today's game has been a complete joke. Just a bunch of limp wristed bitching, when in reality, most people are loving all the intensity and drama in which these games have offered. Everything is about 'crossing the line', when it should be applauded....or at the very least, highlighted as a way of selling the storyline of the series. I'm sure the Pens/Flyers game today was trending on twitter. But oh well....Mike, Keith and Pierre thinks its too much. F'n vaginas.

But lets be honest -- a lot of this is happening because the Pens are getting knocked out of the playoffs early. That means, no Crosby, no Malkin, no Fleury. Thats a lot of tv ratings and eye balls lost. But **** that -- my eye balls are staying put. We've been seeing some great action!

The Pens-Flyers series reminds me of 1980s hockey, tons of goals, bad goaltending, and lots of rough stuff. Pretty wild series too bad it was a first round match up and not the Eastern Conference finals.

If it were the Eastern Conference Finals it wouldn't be as entertaining. The first round is typically the most entertaining and this series is no exception.

Best playoff hockey in a decade. I don't think the NHL could do a bigger turn around from the regular season. Milbury and Jonesy even defended all the rough stuff in today's game bar Asham's crosscheck. Of course, Shanahan is doing his best to put a stop to all the fun, because he doesn't want all the soccer moms out there having panic attacks.

I'm hoping for Flyers-Kings in the finals. How epic would that be?

What we've seen in the last few days is what has been missing since the early 90's and Shanahag is ****ing it up. I haven't been this excited about the first round of the playoffs in I don't know when. It's bben some damn good hockey.

In all honesty though, Shanahan could have made it a lot worse. With all the stuff that has happened this past week, only getting one questionable suspension (so far) is pretty good compared to what went on during the regular season. I would say he and the refs have done a pretty good job on letting the players play.
