In this case you can defend MacKenzie a bit because he just wanted to play the puck deep and go for the line change. It was only logical that he stopped and turned around to jump over the boards. But still this is going to happen all the time pretty soon. Players will simply suck opponents into penalties by turning away.

Kaleta's hit is nice but in the clip he also shows what idiot he is...he just goes for the hit when he could have easily gone for the hit and immediatley for the puck to pass the puck to Gaustad or somebody else. Isn't that the sense of a forecheck?

it was at the end of his shift - he delivered the hit then immediately went to the bench for the change....

that or after he delivered the hit on chara and he thought "holy sh*t! I just knocked Chara down! I better get off before he gets up!"

So what? Is his shift a timely restricted thing? He has the chance to play the puck after an effective forecheck and pass the puck to a teammate in a scoring position (Gaustad).
What kind of momentum-shift would an eventually goal after a hit on Chara bring, especially in a 3-1 game?
This is a another reason why there is no intensity in today's game, players give more importance to end their shifts instead of giving it all to play.
