This just in - the New York Islanders have traded away their #1 overall pick for the rights to former Islanders Alexei Yashin and Oleg Kvasha.

I know its not funny to even joke like that, because its the Islanders... but I had to.

Wow I was suprised to read at NHL.com that the Pens have had a #1 or #2 pick for 4 years in a row and added some serious depth to really win the cup this year...

Yes, sucking for all those years definitely paid off this year.

They'll obviously be picking last this year, so is there anyone decent that will/could be left by then? The organization needs potential top-6 winger depth badly. I'm not a draft-nik by any means.

I'm watching it right now on Versus. This might be the highest pick the Stars have had in over 10 years (#8 spot) unless they do what they always do and trade it away. They better keep it. They need a prospect because the Stars dong have too many in the minors.
