Matthew Bursey Suspended 6 Games; Kyle Haas Suspended for 5 Games

PEI Rocket forward, Matthew Bursey received an automatic suspension of 3 games following an application of code 4.92 of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, during the game that opposed his team to the Moncton Wildcats on December 19. « Our rules are very clear, all players using physical force, in any way, towards an official, will received a penalty for game misconduct which entails an automatic suspension of 3 games » declared the Director of player safety, Raymond Bolduc.

Mr. Bolduc will continue the disciplinary process: « I will gather testimonies of the players and organisations involved, review the report of the officials and consult the Advisory Committee for disciplinary sanctions before announcing my decision in the next few days. »

I don't care how macho this guy wants to act but when a ref has a hold of you don't try to skate away especially at the end of the game. Bursey could have easily hurt himself or the ref falling down. 3 games is fair.

The Director of Player Safety of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Raymond Bolduc, today suspended PEI Rocket forward, Matthew Bursey for 3 additional games to the automatic 3-game suspension already imposed, following the application of code 4.92.

Kyle Haas was also suspended for 4 additional games to the automatic one game suspension for a crosscheck to his opponents face.

These suspensions were handed out following the events that occurred during the game opposing the PEI Rocket to the Moncton Wildcats on December 19th.
