Kyle Campbell Suspended 5 Games

The Director of Player Safety of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Raymond Bolduc, suspended today Kyle Campbell of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles for 5 games. The decision was taken following an incident that occurred on October 14 against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Here is the rationale that led to the decision:

The game was taking place in the Screaming Eagles zone.

An Acadie-Bathurst player, who was along the boards, made a pass to his teammate through the top of the face off circle. Upon receiving the pass, his teammate fired a shot to the opposing goaltender.

When he finished his follow through, the player at fault headed towards his opponent, turned slightly, and hit him directly on the head with the lower part of this shoulder.

His opponent:
- Was in a vulnerable position and didn’t see the player at fault.
- Was injured on the play.

The player at fault was at his first offense.

The Director of Player Safety took this decision after having viewed video of the incident, considered the officials report, spoken to the players and organizations involved and consulted with his senior advisor, Sébastien Bordeleau.
