Colts' Brendan Lemieux Suspended Eight Games

Quote:
The Barrie Colts will be without Brendan Lemieux over the next few weeks after the gritty winger was suspended by the Ontario Hockey League for eight games, Wednesday.

Lemieux, son of former NHL all-star Claude Lemieux, was disciplined for his check from behind on Kingston Frontenacs defenceman Roland McKeown late in the third period of Saturday's game at the Barrie Molson Centre.

These suspension threads need videos! 8 game is a lot so the discipline video should be on the OHL website soon. Can't argue much but whenever there's injury it going to tack on length.

then go find the hit and post it if it bothers you that damn much also why do suspensions matter so much to you?

The issue for videos is not on this site but with the inconsistent and terrible OHL site. If one is going to suspend players as much as the OHL does, the other 2 W & Q can't hold a candle to the OHL in this stat, and they have a format which they boasted about using the NHL style of communications on these matters, then do it for all of them, not just when it seems convenient.

While on this topic the W and Q have historical data for suspensions and trades, the OHL does not.

I tried to! I went to youtube, then the OHL website and the hit was not there. To answer your question why suspensions matter to me is: I want to see if something was worth the suspension or not. I've seen severel suspensions that were very weak. Another thing I don't like is how vague the recap of the suspension was. Recently a player got suspended for starting a line brawl which included the goalies but the "brawl" was not in the rationale. I was skeptical about the suspension until I was the video. Video clear things up. So next time I ask for video assume I already tryed to find it my self and I want to have video evidence of wrong doing.

8 games for THAT?!!?It was a hit from behind but far from horrid. Once agian the player knows a guy is behind him and stays in vulnerable position. I guess the injury suffered was the most important part of the play...

I am all down with protecting kids but the response from the other players is the only appropriate response there. 2 min minor at best for that hit. The OHL is a bigger joke then the NHL with these stupid suspension shenanigans.

The 3 CHL leagues regular season games suspended so far for 12_13. QMJHL 40, WHL 95 and the OHL 185, WTF. The Q and W also published fines they hand out.

I'm all for the fights, but hits from behind are BS especially this one where it's not like McKeown turned his back at the last second, Lemieux knew what he was doin. AND, this hit coulda been MUCH worse. Besides, who hits a dude from behind, turtles, then eggs on his crowd??? SUSPENDED BRO!
