WHL Bantam Draft Lottery

Calgary, AB – The 2013 WHL Bantam Draft Lottery will be held at the Western Hockey League office in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, March 20, at 11:00 AM MST.

The Bantam Draft Lottery will involve the six non-playoff teams from the 2012-13 season, and will determine the order of the first six picks in the 1st round of the WHL Bantam Draft.

The Lottery will use a total of 21 balls and the allotment of balls will be as follows:

Vancouver Giants - Six balls
Prince George Cougars - Five balls
Brandon Wheat Kings - Four balls
Regina Pats - Three balls
Moose Jaw Warriors - Two balls
Lethbridge Hurricanes - One ball

A team can move up a maximum of two positions in the Bantam Draft. Only one ball is drawn in the Lottery.

All in hopes of one team landing young phenom Tyler Benson. He broke the AMBHL scoring record of 131 points. The record was previously held by Ty Rattie.

His final stats on the season are astounding to say the very least. 33 games played, 57 goals, 89 assists for 146 points and 52 penalty minutes. Not to mention scoring 20 points in only 5 playoff games.

A Regina Pats ball was drawn in the lottery, meaning Regina moves up two spots in the first round of the draft and will select second overall. The Vancouver Giants will select first overall, the Prince George Cougars will have the third selection, the Brandon Wheat Kings will have the fourth selection, the Moose Jaw Warriors will select fifth, and the Lethbridge Hurricanes will select sixth overall.

Sounds like a nice pickup Hordi! Be good for the kid to have a crowd to play for. We could sure use him in PG but I think those future prospects are better off elsewhere until we get new management.

Doesn't sound like Brodsky has any intention of selling the team. Which is really unfortunate for the fans of Prince George. It seems like the relationship between him and the people is damaged beyond repair. And the team suffers because of that.
