No doubt. Williams is a non fighting smurf. It takes guts for someone like that to step up to the plate and drop the mitts. Especially against a guy like Elliot (even though his fighting ability has been sub-par this season). It would be a lot easier to skate away and look around waiting for someone else to do something. Kudos to Williams for sure.

Kudos to Williams, but where were the other Ams on the ice? It reminds me of watching De Leo go after Trook last year. Why did his teammates leave it to the smallest guy on the ice to answer the bell?

That situation isn't even as bad. Neither De Leo or Troock are tough. So two non fighters going at it is kind of a wash. But point taken. Neither Walter or Mychan were on the ice at the time but I agree it's rather discouraging nobody else seemed to care. Unfortunately that's hockey for you nowadays.

I wasn't meaning to compare Troock and Elliot as fighters, and if I'm not mistaken the size difference wasn't as bad either. The similarity was that in both cases the smallest guy on the ice, a non-fighter, answered the bell to stick up for a teammate and took a beating while his bigger, tougher teammates stood by and watched. It's ballsy on the part of the little guy, but pathetic on the part of his teammates.
