Giants 0 for 2 here. The only two guys who seem willing to step up for the Giants this year go at the same time. Gibb and Wes looked to be a good one but Wes gets dropped/pushed down by a big left after they square off. Cooke and Pochiro also look game but Cooke gets quickly and easily overpowered by Pochiro. Geertsen is in the vicinity but doesn't look interested in fighting now that he's in a Giants jersey. I also saw that Kessy picked up another misconduct at the 60 minute mark. He seems to get involved at the final buzzers now but not much from him during the game. The Giants have the lineup for the "team toughness" approach but seem to be content with losing games. Lots of inter-divisional games coming up so hopefully the boys get a little more inspired.

Seriously. And unfortunately neither Wes or Cooke are very skilled with the mitts off. But at least the willingness and heart is usually there. Geertsen while playing well and logging a lot of minutes has been a huge disappointment in the fighting department. I still say it's coaching, not sure if it's Hay or Hanlon telling him to keep the mitts on. His game is night and day in that respect while with Edmonton and now Vancouver. I hope that doesn't become permanent.
