Blades acquire Erik Benoit from Ice

The Saskatoon Blades are very proud to announce the acquisition of left-winger Erik Benoit from the Kootenay Ice.

In exchange for the 19 year old from Calgary, Alberta, the Blades have dealt a 4th round selection in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

Benoit is currently in his 3rd full WHL season, posting 8 goals and 18 points in 33 games so far this season. The 5'11, 178 pound forward also has 151 career regular season games of experience, to go along with 23 games of postseason experience.

"Erik is a player who's hard-working player who brings speed and energy," said Blades Head Coach and General Manager Lorne Molleken. "He's not easy to play against and he also brings Memorial Cup experience to our team."

The Saskatoon Blades would like to welcome Erik and his family to the organization.
