Blades acquire Collin Valcourt from Chiefs

The Saskatoon Blades are very proud to announce the acquisition of left-winger Collin Valcourt from the Spokane Chiefs.

In exchange for the 19 year old from Red Deer, Alberta, the Blades have dealt a 1st round selection in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft and a 5th round selection in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

Valcourt is 6'2, 205 pounds and is currently in his 3rd WHL season, having spent all of his career with the Chiefs organization. This season, Valcourt has posted 13 goals and 23 points in 41 games. To go along with that, he's put up 70 PIMs with 6 fights and a +1 rating.

"Collin is a big powerful kid that we are excited to add to our lineup," said Blades Head Coach and General Manager Lorne Molleken. "He's physical and pays a price to succeed. He comes from a successful program in Spokane and brings a ton of experience to our club".

The Saskatoon Blades would like to welcome Collin and his family to the organization.

A 1st and a fifth for a guy we listed for nothing a few years ago is a nice return. I loved what Valcourt brought to the team and wish him the best in Sask.

That 1st in 2015 could be #1 overall since the Blades should suck badly.

Seriously. At first I was surprised to see the Chiefs trade Valcourt but for that kind of return I can't blame them.

I like Valcourt but I'm not so sure of this...
