CALGARY, AB - Ron Robison, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League, announced today that the entire first round series of the 2013 WHL Playoffs between the 2013 WHL East Division Champion Saskatoon Blades (2) and the Medicine Hat Tigers (7) will be televised LIVE on SHAW Channel 304 and SHAW Direct Channel 299 throughout Western Canada. This is the ninth consecutive year that SHAW has provided LIVE television coverage of the WHL Playoffs.

Friday Night CHL Hockey on Sportsnet heads west as Griffin Reinhart the Edmonton Oil Kings host Sam Reinhart and the Kootenay Ice for Game 5 of their Husky WHL Eastern Conference quarter final series on Friday, March 29th. (Note: Game time has been changed to 7:30pm MST)

The 2013 WHL playoff match-up between the Oil Kings and Ice can be seen live on Sportsnet One and in the Pacific, East and Ontario regions (7:30pm MST), and tape-delayed in the West region (9:30pm MST).

WHL Commissioner Ron Robison and SHAW Communications announced today that all games during the 2013 WHL Championship Series between the Kal Tire WHL Western Conference Champion Portland Winterhawks and the Husky WHL Eastern Conference Champion Edmonton Oil Kings will be televised live on SHAW TV, SHAW HD Channel 303, and SHAW Direct ‘Channel 299, throughout Western Canada.

Calgary, AB. - The Western Hockey League (WHL) announced today that ROOT SPORTS will carry the 2013 WHL Championship Series in High Definition between the Kal Tire WHL Western Conference Champion Portland Winterhawks and the Husky WHL Eastern Conference Champion Edmonton Oil Kings. The telecasts will be produced by SHAW Communications and have been provided by the WHL to ROOT SPORTS to broaden the reach of the final season series to the network’s more than 3.4 million homes across the Pacific Northwest .

The Winterhawks and Oil Kings will now face off in a best-of-seven series for the chance to hoist the Ed Chynoweth Cup and earn a berth to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup tournament in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where they will join the host Saskatoon Blades as well as the OHL and QMJHL Champions.
