Clean hit, but this is what they are trying to get rid of. There is always an adjustment period when new rules are put in place.

Yes but I completely disagree with the "adjustment" they are trying to make. Or more specifically the way they are trying to go about making this adjustment. Severe and or excessive suspensions are not the way to do it. All that will do is discourage physical play and that is something that will only hurt the league (and the sport in all leagues). There also needs to be accountability to the player keeping his head down and not being aware of the situation he is in. Of course nowadays that part of the scenario is being dismissed and all the blame is going on the hitter. That isn't right.

10/01/11 Brendan Leipsic Portland Tbd under supplemental discipline versus Tri-Cities on September 30

He put a TC player in the Portland bench on a nice check, then proceeded to push him to the floor of the bench. A fair interference penalty, but a suspension? really?

I think Leipsic is a little **** but that sounds really ridiculous if he were suspended for that. When did this occur time wise during the game? I'd like to see it for myself.

I'm assuming it has something to do with the penalty, but I could be wrong, I didn't see anything outlandish happen during the rest of the game involving him.

1 - POR B. Leipsic, 12:37 - Interference, 2 min (PP)

Nice hit, but more comical than anything. Portland has a history of little agitators and he fills the role nicely. Scott Nichol and Marty Standish are two he reminds me of, but like all 5'8" 155 lb. agitators, he'll get his bell rung eventually.

Charles Inglis suspended 10 games

Prince George, B.C. - The Western Hockey League has announced that Prince George Cougars forward Charles Inglis has received a 10-game suspension due to a Checking to the Head match penalty that he received in the third period of Saturday's game with Victoria.

"These are the types of hits all leagues are trying to get out of the game," said Prince George Cougars General Manager Dallas Thompson. "Unfortunately we had an incident. Now the suspension has come down. We move on."

The suspension to Inglis takes effect immediately and he'll be eligible to return on Wednesday, October 26th when the Prince George Cougars play in Kelowna.

Pretty blatant elbow to the chops on Tyler Stahl. Although it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Stahl used to be a good tough kid but for the last year or so he's been a dirty little ****. Loves to yap and hit guys up high but never ever drop the mitts. What goes around comes around...

Split second bad decision, and a bad hit for sure. But the cool thing about Inglis is he'll score on you, yapp you, then when you drop the mits he'll sit your ass down... hardly a plug if you ask me bro.
