Russia 2012-2013

Let's start a new thread, KHL 12-13 season starts in september and here's first pre season "fight"
????? ?????? ?????? VS ??????? ??????? -...

what we got for the upcoming season?

Trevor Gillies and Jeremy Yablonski in Vityaz Chekhov
Raitis Ivanans - Dynamo Riga
Jon Mirasty - Barys Astana
Severstal has Pakhrutdin Gimbatov (Andrei Nazarov's prospect from VHL)
Alexander Svitov - Salavat Ulayev Ufa
Evgeny Artyukhin - SKA St. Petersburg
Maxim Eprev - Dynamo Moscow (the guy who was not afraid to fight with Mirasty http://www.yapfiles.ru/files/311254/01.gif)

And few other guys who can fight if needed.

So it seems like new KHL season gonna be very entertaining.

Apparently there was a fight between Oleg Saprykin (Salavat Ulayev Ufa) and Leafs prospect Petter Granberg (Skellefteċ) during today's preseason game in Sweden. Haven't found any footage though.

Gimbatov is a newcomer, tough dude, but is he tough enough for guys like Arty, Yabo, Mirasty?
I don't think so.

Artyukhin shouldn't be even mentioned at the same sentence with the Yabo and Nasty.

KHL's top5 are legit heavies like Gillies, Ivanans, Yabo, Mirasty and Gratton. After that there's names like Semenov, Svitov, Artyukhin, Mihalik, Timkin, Gimbatov, Stasenko, Oystrick and Mezei just to name a few.

Arty is not an international top 5, but he's top Russian born fighter nowdays.
Where should be mentioned Chris Simon? I'd put him in top 5 instead of Josh Gratton, seems like Gratton won't be playing in KHL this season.

Artyukhin is definitely at the KHL's Top 10 and really beast as an power forward, but as a russian fighter from my opinion he comes after Semenov and Svitov.

Svitov's performance against heavies like Grenier, Sugden and Mirasty was much better than how Artyukhin did against Brennan or Gratton.

Semenov is an underrated fighter cause he doesn't fight so often, but at the North America has done really well against some NHL -level heavies. Hopefully we'll see him go against some big boys at this season.

I forgot Chris Simon. He's 40 years old, but if Gratton doesn't play at the KHL, then I think he's at the top 5.
