FHL Outlaws Sign Dan McNeill and Tyler Matheson

Williamsport, P.A. - On Saturday October 6th the Williamsport Outlaws announced the signing of veteran defenseman Dan McNeill and defenseman Tyler Matheson. Both are expected to strengthen the Outlaws defensive core and add toughness to the Outlaws lineup as they prepare to defend their 2012 Commissioner's Cup Championship.

McNeill, a 5-year veteran came to the Outlaws after spending his last two seasons with the Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League. McNeill has spent time in the ECHL, IHL, CHL and SPHL. McNeil played his major junior hockey in both the OHL and QMJHL.

The 6'4", 210 pound native of Scarborough, Ontario defensemen has played in 268 professional games racking up 467 penalty minutes. "Dan is a big strong body that moves well back on the blue line and will bring a strong physical presence to our lineup each night," said Outlaws Head Coach Chris Firriolo.

Tyler Matheson comes to the Outlaws after spending his first professional season with the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League where he tallied 13 points and 98 penalty minutes in 64 games.

The 6'4", 230 pound Victoria, British Columbia native played his major junior hockey in the WHL with the Kelowna Rockets and Saskatoon Blades and in the BCHL with the Victoria Grizzlies and Cowichan Valley Capitals.

"Tyler is a young strong tough versatile player who we can play both at defense and at forward," said Firriolo. "He will bring real depth to our defensive core and will be a big body in front of the net offensively when needed, as well as answer the bell when called upon."

Didn't they announce these a month ago? I certainly know they did the Matheson signing.

what does it matter? the team didn't announce the signing, the league did.

most teams don't announce all signings via press release the next day. some take a while to be announced.
