Zaleski had 5 scraps last year in 37 games, the rest are big point guys. Good wave of signings for W-Port.

Outlaws Re-Sign Trevor Karasiewicz, Anthony Battaglia and Nathan Oke

Williamsport, P.A. – On Tuesday, October 2nd at the Williamsport Outlaws Team Headquarters, Outlaws’ Team President & Head Coach Chris Firriolo announced the re-signing of three key veteran players who help lead the Outlaws to the 2012 Commissioner’s Cup Championship.

Trevor Karasiewicz, a 9-year veteran came to the Outlaws last season after spending 7 seasons in the Southern Professional Hockey League where he recorded 291 career assists in 370 games in the SPHL. Karasiewicz, who is in the top 10 for all-time assists in the SPHL, spent time with Winston-Salem, Pee Dee, Huntsville, Richmond, Louisiana, Pensacola, Fayetteville and Mississippi.

The 5’11, 185lb center from Thunder Bay, Ontario, came to the Outlaws last season at the mid way mark and in 22 games scored 12 goals and recorded 22 assists for 34 points. He played a key role in the Outlaws final push to capture the 2012 Commissioner’s Cup Championship

Anthony Battaglia, a 10-year veteran who has played in over 600 career pro hockey games returns this season with the Outlaws after putting up 61 points in 46 games last season. Battaglia’s, who has spent time in the AHL, ECHL, IHL, CHL, brought tremendous leadership and a work ethic day in and day out last season that played an intricate part in the huge success the team had in capturing last season’s championship.

The 6’0, 195lb left wing from Chicago, IL played his NCAA collegiate hockey at Western Michigan. Brother of former NHL forward Bates Battaglia, Battaglia recorded a career 447 points in 603 games

Nathan Oke, a First Team All-FHL selection last season and 6-year veteran returns to the Outlaws as one of the top defenseman in the Federal Hockey League. Oke has spent his 6 year career between the IHL, CHL, SPHL and FHL. Last season Oke had his best year offensively scoring 14 goals and recorded 31 assists for 45 points in 42 games.

The 6’1, 200lb defenseman from Fenelon Falls, Ontario played his junior hockey in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League with the Port Hope Predators prior to turning pro. Oke is expected to be the backbone of the defensive core this year as the Outlaws look to defend their 2012 Championship.

“All three of these guys played key roles in our Championship season last year”, said Outlaws Head Coach Chris Firriolo. “Their leadership and years of experience will undoubtedly help us achieve our goals this year as an organization and hockey club. Their presence alone, both on and off the ice, will help with the development of some of our younger players this year and will become fan favorites for sure within the Williamsport Community.”
