Mad Mel "The Mangler" Angelstad Joins the Motor City Mechanics

FRASER, MI - The Motor City Mechanics issue the following warning: Mel "The Mangler" Angelstad, one of the most notorious fighters in Professional Hockey history has joined the Motor City Mechanics and will be on the ice this Saturday night against Quad City.

Angelstad, or "Mad Mel" as he is internationally known, has accumulated more than 3,445 Penalty Minutes during his thirteen year Professional Hockey career, earning the reputation as one of the games toughest players ever....! Metro Detroit hockey fans may remember "Mad Mel" from his Michigan K-Wings days when, during separate incidents, he pummeled former Detroit Vipers Phil Crowe and Mike Prokopec. In an exhibition game, playing for the Dallas Stars, "Mad Mel" took on two of the NHL's toughest players; the first fight was against one of Angelstad's idols, Bob Probert and then he later challenged Reid Simpson.

Coach Danton Cole's signing of Mel Angelstad is a COUP for Mechanics hockey fans -- With the addition of Mad Mel -- the Motor City Mechanics have one of the most talented group of Professional Hockey players in North America. Mad Mel knows he has one role to play in the Mechanics lineup: "I am here for one reason, to help the Mechanics win the Colonial Cup....! I don't plan on letting anything, or anyone, get in our way. Most of the guys in this league know who I am and my message to them is; keep your distance and don't try anything stupid....!"

Good news, the UHL needs all the fighters it can get. Only problem is he is going to find opponents hard to come by. The U has gone euro much like the nhl has.
From going to Danbury games I've seen more guys shaking they're heads no than actually fighting. It's so bad I've stopped going to games.
I will say though that Mel will find a very willing Brad Wingfield when he plays Danbury! Brad's more than likely so frustrated they might fight 3 times!

That would be an interesting match up. Winger vs mad mel. I would bet that winger doesn't try any cheap **** against Mel!! I know Worlton of the Komets would like to see where he's at vs mel!! I think your right though he will have a hard time finding guys to go with!!

most the teams are probably averaging over a fight per game. I wouldn't exactly call the U a euro league.

I'd say other than the canadian goon league, the UHauL is the league that has the most fights.
