Leland Fidler Returns to Danbury
The Danbury Whalers have announced that defenseman Leland Fidler has signed an agreement to join the team. Fidler, one of the most popular players in the club’s 3-year history, played for the Whalers during the 2010-11 season.
In total, Leland played 5 regular season games for the Whalers that season and had 1 goal & 8 assists and was a +11. During the epic playoff series with the Aviators, Fidler has 1 assist in 5 games and went down with an injury in game 5. In his only FHL season, Leland posted 9 goals, 26 assists, and while as a member of the Rome Frenzy, he also took on Danbury Whalers #15 Corey Fulton in a fight at the Danbury Ice Arena. Over the past two seasons, Leland has played 3 games in the ECHL and played 58 games in the SPHL. The Waltham, Massachusetts native commented, “I have a lot of great memories from my first season. Danbury is an incredible city to be in and I look forward to seeing the fans on Saturday night.”
