doesnt matter too much to me anymore, lost my team in brooklyn, and no shot at a team coming to long island, unless you count our current minor league team named the ny islanders !!

Sounds like AKW may not be back either:

"Ms. Kirnan told council members that the league will meet next week and will vote on whether the Akwesasne team will be back next season. The team faces “heavy fines” for its conduct throughout last season, she said later."

According to Whalers President Alan Friedman, she was misquoted by the paper and the only ones determining AKW's inclusion in the next season is AKW themselves.

It will be interesting to see for sure, although I could see most of the guys saying screw it and going to Cornwall instead. Pretty rediculous that this whole thing played out like it did, nobody can say that what AKW was doing wasn't "hockey" even if it didn't match their soft, PC philosophies on how their teams should be built.

I saw that too on FB but a LOT of the posts in the FHL page and others are by the same 3 or 4 people spreading a lot of speculation and their own pipe dreams. Unless it comes from an owner like Friedman or Herm, who will come forth with valid info as they're able to, then I tend not to believe it until I see what shows up on the ice.

One thing to keep in mind with the AKW/Cornwall scenario is that the LNAH did not technically add a team to the total number of teams in the league. Windsor just moved to Cornwall. Had they added a team so the total was bumped up to 8, a whole additional roster of spots for players would have opened up. They'll still be going with 7 teams for next season (although Godin did refer to Granby and Marrysville? as posibilities in the seasons to come) so it'd still be the same number of roster spots available. Sure the Windsor roster may have had a few guys who live and work close by and wouldn't want to travel to Cornwall (which looks like it's a good 3 hour jaunt 1 way) in which case some spots will probably open up but I don't think it's a lock that the enforcers from AKW would just naturally end up on Cornwall.
