Updated following the expansion and dispersal drafts. No signings announced yet, probably will be a few weeks until moves start to happen, so it's just a list of player rights for now.

Updated through the first two weeks of signings. Right now Dayton is the toughest team in the league, Danville and 1000 Islands have a couple willing guys each while Danbury, Cape Cod and W-Port are asleep at the wheel.

Top fighters signed so far (2011/12 FM totals in parentheses, includes playoffs and other leagues)
DAY - Ahmed Mahfouz (12)
DAY - Lucas Schott (11)
TIP - Chase Tippin (11)
DAN - David Lun (10)
DAY - James Gordon (7)
DAN - Lee McClure (6)
TIP - Matt Atsoff (4)
TIP - Adam McAllister (4)
DAY - Brad Townsend (3)
DAY - Josh Ormsby (DNP)

Big loss today as well for the Whalers who saw their enforcer for the past two seasons, Corey Fulton, sign in the SPHL.

Interesting notes out of the Danbury green/white game on Saturday. Andrew Willock was there but not dressed. He was upstairs:

Corey Fulton was there, dressed for the green team and scored a goal.

Devin Guy was there also but not dressed.
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=3&theater
Standing a mere 20 feet from him I overheard this as he was talking to a group of fans:

"I'm not going to Dayton. They're (Danbury) trying to trade for my rights and if they get it I'll play opening night. If not I'll have to sit out the first 12 games. I can practice with Danbury but I can't play in any games and I'd have to sit the first 12".

Sounds like one way or another Guy will be back in Danbury again. No fights during the 7pm game. Just a lot of back and forth hockey and odd-man rushes. I did hear there were 2 fights during the 3:30 schrimage but no clue who the combatants were as they did not release any names/numbers of who was in camp.

Figured there was a good chance Guy wouldn't report. He's from roughly an hour from Danbury and I'm sure has a day job somewhere in between. Waiting for Danbury to start inking guys. Anyone hear anything from the Cape?

The latest wave of signings:
Quote:
Dayton 09/10/12 Cintala, Peter (D) signed contract
Danville 09/06/12 St Pierre, Josselin (G) signed to PTO
Dayton 09/06/12 Petriello, Nicholas (F) signed contract
Danville 09/05/12 Ste Marie, Darick (F) signed contract
Williamsport 09/05/12 Burlingame, Brandon (F) signed contract
Williamsport 09/05/12 Matheson, Tyler (D) signed contract
Aside from Danville making two very solid signings in the hockey playing department, here's a look at the 5th column guys:

Williamsport
Tyler Matheson: BCHL product, rang up 259 PIMs in three seasons between Victoria and Cowichan Valley. 9 WHL scraps in Kelowna in 09/10 and an impressive 16 for Arizona (CHL) last season. Looks to be a LHW at just 6' 1" but solid fight card with some real big boys for the kid.

Notables: Aaron Boogaard (x3), RJ Hand, Erick Lizon, Jason Kostadine (x2), David Simoes (x2), David Starenky, Randy McNaught (x2), Cam Abney, Taylor Jordan

Brandon Burlingame: Not much out there on this kid but he's 22 years old, from Boring, Oregon and put up 340 PIM in 152 games in the NORPAC for Vancouver and Northern Oregon. Couldn't hurt to have him around

Dayton
Peter Cintala: As Marc LeFebvre continues to assemble the Chiefs, he brought in some Euro flavor and possibly (?) a gritty one. Three 100+ PIM seasons in U20 Czech and Slovak leagues, as well as one in Slovakia's 2nd division. Spent the last two seasons in France and either calmed down a bit or played with refs that let stuff go, the gaudy PIMs by Euro standards make him noteworthy. Pretty decent point production as well, it'll be interesting should Cintala stick.

According to coach's tweet about the signing, I think he's definitely expecting Cintala to be a gritty one:

Contract back from 6'3" big physical monster D-man Peter Cintala. @DaytonDevils #fhl

Bryan Mock is in camp with Danbury. The Whalers certainly need to find themselves a new enforcer with Fulton heading south this season.

1000 Islands 10/18/12 Watt, Terry (F) signed contract
1000 Islands 10/18/12 McCarthy, Kris (D) signed contract
1000 Islands 10/16/12 Ferguson, Shane (F) signed contract
1000 Islands 10/15/12 Temple, Nikolas (D) signed contract
1000 Islands 10/15/12 Tamane, Brent (F) signed contract
1000 Islands 10/15/12 Knee, Justin (F) signed contract
1000 Islands 10/15/12 Bernier, Jordan (F) signed contract
More former Warriors to 1000 Islands. Kris McCarthy has 13 career FHL fights (including postseason) names like Guy, Malloy and LaPorte on his card. Good standup d-man. Terry Watt has also been good for a few scraps each of the past two years between the AAHL, FHL and SPHL. Real decent card too, Willock (x2), Barlow, Sicard and McGill all on there.

For the rest, you've got Shane Ferguson coming over from Danville, Jordan Bernier0from Brooklyn and Nik Temple from Danbury. Tamane and Knee are rookies.

It appears as though Julian Fraser has made the Whalers

I guess we can take him off our lists:

Long overdue update, Ty Ariss was waived by Dayton, Dan McNeil to season-ending IR and added Shawn McNulty to Danville. Tyler Howe heads to the LNAH from Cape Cod.

A few teams adding grit in the past couple days:

12/7
Cape Cod Bluefins: Brought back Ian McLachlan (6'0", 190 lbs). 0 points, 2 fights in 3 games last season, both in the same game vs. Danville (Chris Affinati, Brad Townsend). Two more fights in preseason, both against Danbury on 10/20 (Julian Fraser, Joseph Gordon) and scrapped James Gordon in his return to the lineup on 12/7.

12/8
Danbury Whalers: Brought back James Ryerse (5' 10", 201 lbs). 0 points, 3 fights, 21 PIM in 10 games last season, all fights against Cape Cod (Luke Frey x2, Garrett Peters)

Thousand Islands Privateers: Brought back Nick Laporte (6'5", 202 lbs). An original Privateer, had 6 points and 37 PIMs in 24 games back in 10/11. Three fights against some big boys (Corey Fulton, Brad Pawlowski, Matt Marchell) for the North Bay, ON native. After appearing in just one game with Mississippi (SPHL) last season, started 2012/13 with the Denver Cutthroats (CHL) going scoreless in seven games with 10 PIM (2 fights against Adam Smyth and Colt King) with two additional pre-season scraps vs. Garrett Greunke and Justin Sawyer.

Corey Bellamy got suspended for something (perhaps the little episode below), for some length, has already missed one game.

Quote:
2 H L.Schott 2 Delay Game 11:27
2 H L.Schott 10 Delay Game 11:27
2 V C.Bellamy 2 Roughing 11:27
2 V C.Bellamy 2 Delay Game 11:27
2 V C.Bellamy 10G Abuse of Off 11:27
Whats the latest with Guy? 12 games came and went a while ago, Danbury could use him.

Some moves from around the league:

Danbury acquired defenseman Mark Vida (6 fights) from Danville for cash considerations.

Danville also waived Olivier Schenk, who scrapped twice in 10 games for the Dashers.

1000 Islands waived defenseman Terry Watt (3 fights), he was claimed and signed a contract with Dayton.

1000 Islands agitator Adam McAllister has been suspended by the league (number of games pending)

Also, this goes back a week or two, but Danbury placed the biggest pest in the Fed, Kelly Miller and his 73 PIM through 18 games on team suspension on December 28.
