Bluefins sign Sean Fitzpatrick
The Cape Cod Bluefins Head Coach and Assistant GM Dan Gordon announced today the signing of rookie defenseman Sean Fitzpatrick. Sean is the third Bluefin defenseman signed along with Lucas Frey and Nick Wheeler. Sean comes to Cape Cod after finishing up his collegiate career with Stony Brook University in the ACHA.
Fitzpatrick, (6’5” 216lb) Rochester, New York native finished his last two years at the Stony Brook University (1,8,9) in 43 games played, where he was team captain and also received awards for NJCAA 2nd Team All-American in his senior season 11-12. He played his first two collegiate seasons at Monroe Community College (5,20,25) in 32 games played where he was on the All-Rookie team in 08-09. Fitzpatrick played juniors in the WSHL for the currently extinct Phoenix Polar Bears where he was part of a championship team in 2008. “Fitzy is going to provide us with a big presence on the blue line this season. He is an extremely hard worker and tough kid and his size and awareness will benefit him on the back end. I expect him to get better every day with his hard work and determination and see him getting more playing time every week as the season continues,” says Coach Gordon.
