Bluefins sign John Cahalane

The Cape Cod Bluefins Head Coach and Assistant GM Dan Gordon announced today the signing of rookie forward John Cahalane. John comes on to Cape Cod after an impressive four year collegiate career at Worcester State University.

Cahalane, a 6’4, 225lb native of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, finished his four years for the Lancer’s playing in ninety-nine games with 38g’s 39a’s for 77 points, and never missed a single game in his collegiate career. John lead WSU in scoring his freshman, junior and senior season and captained the team in his last two years. Cahalane is on the top 20 All-Time lists in school history for goals and points. He played junior hockey for the Laconia Leafs in the AJHL where he had 19 goals and 33 points in 30 games played.

Coach Gordon is happy to have landed the college standout and feels his size and strength will help him be dominant in pro hockey. “Johnny is a big, strong presence on the ice. He has size, speed, and a cannon for a shot. His many attributes will be an important asset to the team’s success this season. Even though he’s a rookie, I expect him to help lead like he did the past two years in college. His gritty, physical style and hard work will pay off in every aspect of his game.”
