FHL Bluefins re-sign Richard Dart

The Cape Cod Bluefins Head Coach and Assistant GM Dan Gordon announced today the re-signing of defenseman Richard Dart for the 2012-2013 season. Dart (6’7”, 225) a native of Cape Cod, returns to the Bluefins after joining the team at the end of last season for the final 9 games including playoffs (1A, 2PIM). Prior to joining the Bluefins, Dart put up 16 goals and 31 assists for a total of 47 points in 39 games while racking up 78 penalty minutes for Roger Williams University ACHA II over two seasons.

Coach Dan Gordon hopes that signing Dart will help solidify the Bluefins defensive corps while adding a needed physical presence. “Richie has been working extremely hard all summer on the Cape and I’ve noticed a vast improvement in his game. In order for Richie to see a lot of minutes is he has to play tough, and most importantly, be tough to play against.”

Dart also attended the Texas Brahmas training camp in the Central Hockey League this October.
